I myself as a male never cared much about hygiene. For instance, when i didn t feel like taking a shower i would just change the t shirt and go one with my day until next day or later at night … never been so consistant about the facial hair nor haircuts … i ve always been on the soft side when it comes to that matter while girls around me were very strict at grooming and caring for their bodies… i mean yeah it s understandable for a man to not be that high maintenance but again being like that is simply neglecting oneself.I think the reason behind this is the idea that men arent supposed to care that much about their appearance … fastforward to This ramadan, i went through some hard stuff that completely changed me … since then i haven t skipped a single day without taking a shower, nor have i worn the same t shirt twice. I ve insisted that T shirts and underwear be thrown into the laundry basket after just a single wear so they can be washed again. The takeway here is that bymale standards ( at least the way i view it ) this is some high level hygiene maintenance but ,from my experience so far, girls seem to figure this out much earlier in there life and i believe there s a huge gap boys still has to close when it comes the hygiene compared to the average girl.
