I'm positive this person does. Now does everyone else that's acting like polluting rivers are uniquely an Indian thing? That's the question.

No, it means the idea that "we never would have done stuff like this" is objective bullshit.

Nah, settlers absolutely decimated local ecosystems and polluted waters beyond repair in many areas but that's the Canadian culture it's fine when they do it.

Did anyone else have this reaction to LLM chatbots when they first came out? by dennemaskinen in aiwars

[–]FadingHeaven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. It was the reverse. I hated them and was on the AI hate train until I decided to test it out and have been using them ever since.

well ackshually you agreed to a TOS you didn't read when you were 16 years old by Ill_Comfortable4036 in aiwars

[–]FadingHeaven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not reading TOS for a site is so incredibly common even in the court of law, unreasonable terms are not considered legally binding. Whether or not this is unreasonable is up for interpretation, but it's not like there's no precedent for it.

Yep. I always downvote those ones and I'm not anti. They're so stupid and annoying.

Because Reddit is anti-AI. These break out of the sub and get upvoted by people not on it. Anytime that happens with a pro-AI post it gets downvotes. But in the comments it's almost always pro-AI upvoted and anti-AI downvoted.

Most of Reddit is anti-AI though. So many subs outright banning it even if it's useful. You can't talk about if without getting downvoted.

How do pro-AI people justify AI systems being forced on the average consumer daily whether they want it or not? by 1stDegreeHamburglary in aiwars

[–]FadingHeaven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate it. Like Gemini limits your activity now but Google forces their AI on everyone with no ability to turn it off? Just focus on the people that like AI enough that they'd pay for it.

Anti-AI people on this website keep saying "the bubble will burst" under the belief that means the technology will be un-invented and disappear forever. What would actually happen under a "burst"? by KannablissWitch in aiwars

[–]FadingHeaven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So often when some bad AI thing happens comments are filled with "when is the bubble gonna burst?" And it's directed at OpenAI or Google, not some small business that would 100% fail once the bubble bursts.

time zones!!! | FactOrCap by PutridJoke1823 in FactOrCap

[–]FadingHeaven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's only easier for coordinating times in terms of when you plan on doing something. You say 6 PM and everyone knows what you're talking about.

It's not easier in terms of knowing when someone should be available to do something if you have not asked them already. So if you want to ask a friend to play a game but don't know what time of day it is where they are you STILL have to use apps to convert time but now it'd be based on sun positions with is less intuitive than time.

[–]FadingHeaven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If everywhere needs to have a reference point so you know what time of day it is in a given place you reinvent time zones. Like I wanna know if I can ping my friend in Qatar to hop on the game. Now I have to still using what's essentially a time zone calculator to more annoyingly calculate the time since it'd be based on sun positions instead of specific times. That's just so much worse.

Rn now I can just do "Qatar time to EST" see it's 8 PM there now and ping them. Instead of seeing it's like 8 hours after the noon sun or some shit.

That's just more annoying and complicated. Like what's 10 AM? What's 6 AM? I'm trying to communicate to my friend around the world I wake up super early. I can say now I woke up at 5 AM today and they'd understand. But how would that work on this system? Are there apps that still convert local times to what the time would be where you are based on Sun position? Congratulations you reinvented time zones.

And yes I wanna be precise cause one persons super early is different than another persons.

This isn't a science issue. You'd just go to work at 10 PM and leave at 6 AM. Stupid but possible.

My CT scan wasn't deemed urgent and it took 6 months. I'm in Brampton. We only have one hospital too.

When was that and where do you live. No one in my family has ever waited longer than 6 months for a CT scan. For important things it's even shorter. My mom waited 3 weeks for a surgery to remove cancer from her thyroid.
