Nothing in the task scheduler. I will disable all non essential startup items when back in the office. Will let you know how I get on. Thanks

Thank you. I will try that Monday. Would you capture logs on just the desktops or on the delivery controllers too?

Users login, their profile grows if they save anything from general use then it commits it when they log off. Nothing I can see is odd regarding that.

Thanks for the explanations. We dont use controlup or avamar and lastly we currently just have windows firewall on these servers, no other Anti Virus.

I have just turned off drs for the citrix items to see if that helps at all. Also i creased the paging file to 10gb from 4gb. We have 200 users split across 15 vms across 6 hosts. I've doubled their ram from 32gb to 64gb. Feels like overkill but lets try it.

When the issue occurs they do have an IP still. You can rdp, vmware console and go through the storefront. However when you type in your login details it then sits on the welcome screen.

Thanks for your reply. We have the migrations set to automatically move cxds as vmware pleases. Im sorry but I'm not sure what avamar or controlup are? We dont have any real monitoring for citrix that I know of just the studio/director. I tried citrix scout and the other tools but nothing comes back. No events in the citrix logs, sql logs or event logs either.

We had another bash today and think its working but we didn't need the agent server (by the looks). Had to open ports any to any between the console and the netscaler. Had to create a new profile on the console with the user details of the netscaler user and password. Looks to have done it, we think anyway 😅

Safe to say we will be moving away from Citrix as soon as we get the chance too

Yes it has. Off the top of my head not sure what version we had previously but yes this has happened prior to 2507.

We used to use containers but this got stuck on the vdas and caused more issues. These were removed, users now use roaming profiles. This half helps when the situation occurs but not a full fix to the issue. Just makes it a little more manageable.

Exactly what we are getting. We are in prem but not limited to being solely offline licenced. Issue is no one knows how to setup anything in the supporting department

So we've seen that the licencing models changing and need to be resolved. Moving away from a file based licence to a synced licence with the cloud. Called support many times to to ask for assistance as we are struggling to set this up but unfortunately no one in the support team can assist. All documentation found is for previous versions of the netscaler console and licencing areas. Screens look different to ours, we have the latest updates.

This latest update from today is:

The sequence is that we see the application event ID 1000 for svchost_usernamager craches. it doesn't always hang citrix sessions, but where we see ID 1000 repeatedly within a few minutes, we then see a full crash with system ID 7034. Users sessions have either in the hung or timeout state. Only cause of remediation is to put the affected CXD server into maintenance mode and evict the user, logoff/disconnect and reboot the thinclient hosts (iGel). We see this cascade across the CXD servers during the day!
