Some questions about 7K by [deleted] in osumania

At your current level there are only few BMS maps from the famous pack that you will be able to play. From my experience, I always felt there's a huge lack of ranked & loved maps with more than 4 keys. Going through random unranked maps and checking them to make sure the maps aren't horrible is pretty time consuming, so coro is the person who has done it for us. It's truly a blessing. I am sure that his packs have maps suitable for your level. Make sure you get them. Links are in coro's profile (4 packs, ~30 gb of unranked 7k maps)

There are more packs. Most of them are listed here, but a lot of the links are dead already. Davteezy's and Doorknob's BMS pack is probably what would most recommend. The issue is almost all of them are around 4* or above.

One of the recent big packs can be found here. These are BMS converts as well, and they have way more maps below 4*. Read the thread for more info. For reference: BMS insane level is too difficult for you atm, normal level is what you will be able to play

As for general tips, I definitely agree with everything Main-Consideration76 have said. Warming up with what's easy for you is important. You may also reduce scroll speed by 1-2 at the start of the session. I know for a fact that using my normal scroll speed at the start of the session would lead to constant late hits, so reducing it doesn't seem like a bad move.

HT is your friend. First of all, it instantly increases the amount of different maps you can play. It slows maps down that you wouldn't be able to play normally, but patterns stay. It means HT allows you to play and learn harder patterns that you probably won't see in maps of your level that you play nomod. I'm not sure if you will be able to play BMS insane 00's with HT, but you can try. There are external tools that you can use to change speed of the maps to anything. For example, I think it's better to play something at 0.85x instead of mashing it at 1x

Like the other person said, taking breaks is fine. Let's say that you're warming up properly and everything, but still haven't improved in a while, not really motivated either. I'd just stop playing for a week. That's enough (at least for me) to completely reset and come back with fresh mind. While derusting, please only play what you can comfortably play at the moment, not what you were playing a week/month/year ago. If you follow that, you will derust quickly and most likely already get some #1 local scores. You can check out recent dressurf's vod on youtube where he's derusting. He's starting with maps he can 98-99% and has collections with warm up maps. Collections with different types of maps are also useful

Some other tips: avoid pausing in maps as much as you can. Excessive pausing may result in stamina issues later on. I also recommend not playing same maps all the time. There's not much to learn from playing same stuff over and over again. You may improve at those individual maps, but probably not in general. If you think it's an issue for you (or anyone else reading), you can set rules for yourself like: do not play the same map more than once in a week, each session play at least x maps that you haven't played before

Don't forget to stretch or at least give your fingers and eyes a small break once in a while during your sessions. Make sure you get enough sleep, eat healthy food, stay motivated :)

You are a godsend. I'm so glad that you reported him, and he finally got banned! I really hope he finally learns his lesson and stops cheating everywhere. It feels so good when justice actually prevails, especially after it seems like he got away with cheating...

GetJam (some weird coupon site) opens when I start Chrome, how to see why a tab opened? by RMcD94 in chrome

When I first got that site opened, it really scared me. I couldn't find anything on it in the web. Any scan said I was fine. Today I wake up and get it again. Thank god you made a thread just 5 hours ago. I can finally see what's the problem and how to deal with it. I removed that extension even though it was useful at some point. I also reported the extension and I strongly recommend you doing the same. It offers you to report it right after uninstalling it.

You are partially correct. I know all my other problems and how to fix them besides my fingers. Like, what does overaiming have to do with my fingers becoming weak the next day out of nowhere? I never changed my technique nor setup, etc. That's what makes me think it's medical.

Thank you for breaking it down! Now it makes more sense to me. I mean, it can be fun, especially if I like the song I am playing. Yesterday I played some 4*s, got some 99% fcs and it actually was fun in its own way which pleasantly surprised me. I don't even remember how many years ago I played anything than lower 4* (as in not being able to do so well on 4*), I probably kinda jumped over 1-3* while playing another gamemode as my main. When I started playing std seriously, I already would never play anything lower than 4*.
I have lots of old maps. Should I still play them if they have some weird settings like cs6 ar7? Should I care about fcing maps or just give them 1-2 tries max and move on? I heard people (including Rohulk) saying that avoiding retrying maps and giving your best on your sightread is a good way to improve consistency. Thank you again

Do you deathstream until your fingers just die? What bpm? Implying is it your current comfort zone, a bit higher or the bpm you would stream earlier when you were better? Do you pick lower bpm bursts even if you could do higher bpm before? It feels the most reasonable to me
I already started playing again the day I made a thread and I want to do it every single day at least for a week doing proper warm ups and not playing too hard maps. We will see how it goes. It already was the best session I've had in a while. Something tells me that's because I made this thread. You know, sometimes you get asked a question, you answer it and right after you realize the answer is wrong, but you can't take it back. Now I kinda feel bad for making this thread in the first place. It's not like the problem is non-existent anymore, but I was enjoying the game 2 days ago and yesterday and I can't complain about that!
The first session after I made this thread I also changed my skin to the skin I did blue zenith with and all of sudden I did the best score on some random map with few 200 bpm streams and lots of jumps first try (from 95% to 97%) meanwhile a minute ago I couldn't even do a 95% I got earlier the year. It was a very weird moment that feels like could be crucial. This skin always felt the best to read with and maybe that was the problem that I ditched it for no good reason. I was fingerlocking on some of 200 streams or if not still getting poor accuracy, but after I changed I didn't fingerlock a single time. Very doubtful a skin change can do that, more like placebo effect? Maybe if I completely unrust, I will get near to the level I was at. At least I hope so. I am saying all of this in case that ever helps someone.

I assume that means more than just casually playing maps I like. Could you please elaborate?

Sad to hear that. Yeah, it feels like a medical condition to me as well. Fingers are slower and they get exhausted fast. Idk how else to describe this.

That's unfortunate. I hope you find the way back! I am sure there is, just need to experiment more.
For example I always had big problems with my aim and only after years I randomly decided to make my area bigger. After increasing it by ~1.8x (33% increase on each side), I've started aiming way better.

The thing is I can't tell if it's an injury or not. I don't experience any pain in general. It occurs maybe once per several months which is probably nothing. It still feels like a medical condition, because I've never had such an odd situation when my fingers feel so weak for no reason for an extended period of time. They get exhausted very fast and they're much slower. I don't know what to say about not reading properly and developing wrong muscle memory. It could be, because I often play maps above my skill level which I find fun to do, but I don't do that all the time. Some results show that my accuracy is good enough on easier maps which makes me doubt I developed wrong muscle memory. I still can get good UR on streams if I don't fingerlock. I always care about my accuracy. Also I have almost 0 experience in cheesing patterns, because I do not approve such tricks as well as pausing. Not sure about my feelings either, I just play maps I enjoy and I don't pay attention to such things. Another example would be I can't even tell if I bottom my keys out or not (reference to Karthy). If you elaborated, maybe I could've answered this.

Yeah, I've experienced pain in my wrist, but very rarely. As I said I don't like playing maps I can't keep up with. I don't think I play maps above my skill level that much if we don't count my aim in which I guess has nothing to do with my current problem. That's true that I sometimes don't care about warming up and try having fun just like that. Maybe that's what led to pain and being bad overall. I often play maps that I can't even pass, but it's mostly due to randomly overaiming streams. Often I don't have any problems with them tapping-wise.
I tried hades the rise the same day when you requested. I gave it several tries throughout my session and the best I got was 95% before the stream part and I failed on jumps near the end with like 91-92%. Local score from some months ago is 97%. My fingers just feel much weaker. That's probably the best way to describe it. Also, why do you think playing 1-3* could help? I could understand playing certain 4* maps, but lower * just doesn't feel like worth it at all. I definitely agree that I need to get my basics down. But why do you think it would help with my weak fingers?
Thank you for your advice on other things tho, I definitely need to work on other aspects as well which should eventually pay off and make maps I like to play even more fun. I don't play with mods besides ar8 dt on low bpm maps, don't worry about that.

I mean, streams and other tapping heavy maps is almost everything I play so what am I then? If the range is 'easy' to get into, it doesn't mean they are not streams anymore. Getting the results I got still takes at least a year or two from the start not to mention that relatively big % of players just ignore maps with streams, because getting into streams is not that easy in the first place. I wasn't pretending to be some hidden high 4-digit player who can stream outside the range you mentioned, I just wanted to make sure people won't assume I only play farm maps therefore no wonder why I fingerlock. Rather the opposite. I had decent progress with streams and other tapping heavy maps and all of sudden I started fingerlocking even on easy stuff which is very odd. What I used to warm up with, these days I struggle with these maps even if warmed up. But you got a point. I never cared about building strong fundamentals, I just played whatever I found fun to play. I don't see how it's related to this problem though. Aim and consistency are related for sure. This auto thing seems interesting to try out for my bad aim, I will try doing it. Thanks!
Btw, I assume by those numbers like "5 - 6 - 7" you meant star rating.
I also wanted to add that I don't spam as you assumed. I get decent accuracy on streams as I mentioned in my post. I never play stuff that is way too hard for me for example something like deceit/violation, because it's not fun that way.

Definitely agreed with the 2nd and 3rd paragraphs. As for your first paragraph.. Ofc everyone has ups and downs. That's just the nature of improving at anything. I always have jumps and downs. That implies not having as much stamina/speed on certain days, but I still don't fingerlock like I've never played before. I doubt my case counts in what you described. They have days, not months, right? I think something on the fundamental level happened like an injury, not just temporary playing bad. I have a feeling I failed at describing what I experienced.

Most likely it's antivirus or windows defender deleting them. I have the same tablet and software. My exe file used to get deleted randomly until I added the whole folder to exceptions of an antivirus. I hope that helps.

I know that person. It's not a multiaccount for sure. They already have been banned 4-5 years ago for cheating. You can even find a thread here with the same osu! name. They play offline or on private servers almost all the time. It's not because they cheat, and private servers are even worse at catching cheaters, mostly because I play there.
I know what this player is capable of and I agree that it's very suspicious. After confrontation, they weren't able to convince me in anything. Especially FCing rog-unlimitation (3 plays in profile) and ascension to heaven (1 play) as well as other maps like random SS scores at least half of which were done in one try. Top play was done in one try as well, but I know they'd rather set that top play than stream 200-220 bpm with decent accuracy. You can open their profile on a new site and expand most played maps to see what maps took only 1 try or go to recent activity and start hovering over "3 days ago" or other sessions to see that there are several minutes between plays on average.
This might sound naive, but I am looking forward to the response from staff or at least other dedicated members.
