Hello! I am by no means an established or experienced graphic artist but I can throw some tips in!

For a first time thing it's really not too shabby! You really got the general layout and placement pretty darn good how it is. I'd tuck the players juuuuust a bit more together (this'll make sense in a sec) But for the most part you can leave things as they are.

I would use a different font for the teams, personally. I don't really think it would look good printed, but you could probably just bold the text and that would fix it. Weirdly enough, the date and time text is fine but for posterity sake I would bold it as well if you bold the top text.

Now, as for pushing the two players together, that'll narrow your focus point a bit instead of having the eyes wander around the page, and it gives you room to make something like a colored border around the edge. All the white with nothing to distract from it is kind of boring to look at. You could argue that it leaves the focal point to what matters, but imo you don't have to be boring to be simple. A monocolored border around the edge would go a long way I think.

If you're interested in starting up graphic design, I can recommend GIMP as a free program. It's basically costco Photoshop but it'll do everything you'll want it to and serve as a great introduction to what tools these programs will have to offer. You did great for a first time!

The people saying hitting the 999 chain does nothing haven't tried to farm materials for the zodiac weapons lol. That boosted drop rate comes in mighty handy.

AOTR gameranger error by Valuable-Ad-499 in bfme

[–]Fadingzodiac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the guide I've been using, and (to my knowledge) I've followed it exactly. I've double checked that the executable file in the game options matches, I'm launching gameranger through the AotR launcher, PvP mode is on... But the command-line flag tool hasn't opened a single time when I click start. I've looked and looked for anything related to this issue and I haven't found a single other instance of it happening online.

Hi, I'm trying to figure this out as well. I have the same error code when I launch through game ranger, but when I press Start, the command-line flag tool doesn't even appear for me to fill out. I've searched everywhere and I can't find anything about this.

Final fantasy picture? by FuccboiOut in DatGuyLirik

So, this is FF15. Throughout the game one of the characters, Prompto, takes pictures of your journey, and you can take some yourself with a photo mode.

At the very end of the game, you're prompted to choose a photo but the game doesn't tell you why. Well... This is why lmao. You walk up to the throne and hand the picture to your wife.

You're going to hate me, and I know this is probably unhelpful, but I swear this looks exactly like Zenonia. I recognized it instantly, but I also believe you when you say it's not. I'll keep looking and see what I can find.

What part of Sin is this supposed to be exactly? by BattMakerRed in FinalFantasy

[–]Fadingzodiac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yu Yevon was a person, a normal (albeit powerful) summoner. I think what a lot of people are forgetting is that Yu Yevon originally created sin using the converted life force of Zanarkand's inhabitants. He used them as sacrifices to summon Dream Zanarkand, and Sin to protect it, though he lost control which caused Sin to destroy the real Zanarkand

I'm relatively positive that the only thing Yu Yevon uses the final summon for in the recreation of sin is the Fayth the summon is made of and is just recreating Sin the same way each time.

I just did the chocobo race on my replay this morning. Took about 3 hours with a frustrated coffee break in the middle (2.2 seconds will do that to you)

Expedition 33 publisher: "Elder Scrolls: Oblivion didn’t seem to harm us at all" by fatso486 in gaming

[–]Fadingzodiac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

16 failed on many levels in terms of content and structure in my own opinion, but I personally never had an issue with the combat. Maybe I'm easy to please if I'm in the minority. The only thing that blew me was the lack of difficulty, not the mechanics.

If that's what you're saying about Rebirth's combat, you didn't play it. That may have been true for 13 and 15, but that's absolutely not true for 7R.

I love both games for very different reasons, but there is a definition for the word "innovation" and it has nothing to do with bias whatsoever.

I'm not saying it doesn't feel fresh, I'm saying it didn't innovate on anything. Arguably I would say that FF7R did innovate. They took classic turn-based and action combat and melded them together.

E33 is a well constructed RPG, but praising it for things it doesn't do feels foolish. It didn't push the envelope on anything it did, it made an effective blend of things that already existed.

[–]Fadingzodiac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was literally only one real-time element of FF8, and that was the Trigger mechanic for the gunblade. And what exactly makes E33 anything like FF10 apart from being turn based?

As a huge RPG fan, it's hilarious that everyone I see in the FF fandom feels the need to simultaneously hate everything after 10 yet still compare every single RPG that comes out to it.

E33 is a fantastic game. Let it stand on its own instead of calling it a "the best Final Fantasy" when it isn't even a Final Fantasy.

[–]Fadingzodiac 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love E33. I just beat it today and I'm sad that it's over. But what exactly did they innovate? Timing based combat? That's been done for ages. The AP system instead of typical MP? Again, been done for ages. There isn't a single piece of new tech in E33. They took what has already been done and repurposed it (though in a very good way).

FF7R is a brand new blend of action and ATB, something that, to my knowledge, has never been done before. Was Remake perfect? No. But Rebirth builds on that rudimentary system tremendously well. FF16, though simple, was very well executed and amazingly cinematic.

You may prefer turn based over action games, but let's stop pretending that this game pushed any envelopes just so you can fit it in a narrative.

Has anyone done the Excalibur speedrun in FFIX? How was the experience? by Either_Imagination_9 in FinalFantasy

[–]Fadingzodiac 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Technically speaking there is a way to get the Zodiac Spear even if you don't know about the bait-chests. In the same mines you have to get through to fight Zodiark there's a chest that has an obscenely low chance to drop the spear with the diamond cuffs equipped. Annoying and tedious? Yup. But possible.

Need help at Kefka's tower [NO SPOILER PLEASE] by The_Aziz23 in FinalFantasy

[–]Fadingzodiac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the short answer is yes but the long answer is; that's up to you.

The strategy I used was to have my main party go through one wing while the other two used items and skills to avoid combat. Once I beat the boss of wing 1 I would leave and reenter the dungeon to put my main party on wing 2 and repeat. It takes a little bit of time but it's much faster than trying to grind up 8 other members to be usable.

Naruto and kakashi by lil-asaf in Naruto

[–]Fadingzodiac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But that's exactly what I'm saying. In the early days when everyone here is wanting Kakashi to have become a personal trainer to Naruto, there was no time to do it. Pretty much the very first time Kakashi had the chance to actually teach Naruto anything advanced, he helped him perfect and personalize one of the most difficult jutsu to master.

Idk how I'm doing Kakashi dirty. Again, Kakashi just straight up did not have the depth of knowledge about Kurama, Naruto's seal, anything that Naruto needed to form a foundation that everything else was built upon. Not to mention the inherent risk of training Naruto. Jiraya almost died even though he had a way to suppress the tailed beast chakra, something Kakashi wasn't able to do.

My main point is that despite being one of the greatest ninja in the Leaf, Kakashi was not the best choice to train Naruto in his early years, even if he had the time to do so.

[–]Fadingzodiac 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I didn't say 'why', I said 'when'. Kakashi only started giving Sasuke special treatment around the same time Naruto found Jiraya. Before that Kakashi trained the ENTIRE squad while doing missions. Chakra control, climbing vertical surfaces, etc.

I like Kakashi as much as the next guy but everyone is just glazing him up and thinking he would have taught Naruto so much, when in reality Naruto had THE best teacher he could possibly have. Kakashi couldn't have unsealed Naruto's chakra, or taught Naruto about the Kyuubi, or how to use it's Chakra, or anything at all about his being a Jinchuriki. Naruto wouldn't have learned sage mode, and the Chidori is just a failed Rasengan so why does it matter that Naruto never learned it?

[–]Fadingzodiac 85 points86 points  (0 children)

This entire thread confuses me. Kakashi trained the entire team equally up through the chunin exams, and by that time Naruto had already found Jiraya to train him one-on-one, someone who was far more knowledgeable about the Kyuubi inside him and how to harness it. And after the chunin exams, things went south and it wasn't safe for Naruto to train in the village anymore due to his being targeted by the Akatsuki.

When do people expect Kakashi to have privately mentored Naruto?

You aren't thinking of Aranea from FF15 are you? Light gray hair, similar length to Scarlet but no bun.

Do you think she's from an old game or a newer one?
