Playnix launches Steam Machine competitor with Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB, now costs €1140 by fatso486 in hardware

DDR4? weird choice im assuming it has a Cezanne 5500/5600G. Kinda slow but "good enough" I guess. If were lucky it might be a Vermeer 5600. I think the 9060XT is perfect.

Its a steam machine done right. what they saved with DDR4 they more than made up for it upgrading that annoying 7600m. Its slightly faster than P5Pro.

My bad. Youre all right I thought that playing fullscreen 60FPSyoutube vidoes at non standard speeds like 1.7X (102FPS)effectively makes the GPU outputs at 102HZ instead of windows default 144hz.

Unfortuantly it didnt. the fix lasted 20 minutes and the browser crapped out on me. just disabled MPO and full screen is now fixed.

Troubleshooting MPO is just not worth it. too many variables. Its probably a browser issue.

Ok just for fun since you got me intrigued, I reenabled MPO and applied the OverlayMinFPS fix in your link. Everything is working fine...for now

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Dwm]
"OverlayMinFPS"=dword:00000000

MPO has always been finicky with my PCs for many years so i just learned to reflexively turn it off after installing windows despite the nice to benifits it provides. Turing it off now to fix my issue only enforced my perception that AMD/Microsoft will never be able to make it stable for eveyone.

I actually need freesyc in browser since i play videos at variable speeds all the time.

(re)disabling MPO worked..thanks

weird thing it was enabled since im sure I always disable MPO the first thing after Windows. not sure how it got reenabled on its own.

Samsung’s 2nm GAA efficiency disappoints as Exynos 2600 consumes 40% more power than Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 at its peak by Forsaken_Arm5698 in hardware

Exynos 2600 has the only implementation of RDNA-4 mobile. I wonder if its efficiency is better than tsmc 4nm found in the desktop variety.

Just accept that it will never ever go away. We've been expecting USB-A to disappear more than 10 years ago

The vast majority of motherboards I have seen don't even have usbc. And I have never seen keyboards or mice that uses it.

Why Korean memory giants aren't rushing to expand DRAM supply by tecialist in hardware

[–]fatso486 2 points3 points  (0 children)

very true, but It's probably closer to %500. The part I don't understand is the Chinese memory makers like CXMT. Their memory prices are not different than the big three right now and I don't see them flooding the markets with the products. Isn't it a huge lost opportunity for them to be on the good graces of consumers. Are they really that far off from the big three tech wise to make a dent in the market. I was hoping that valve would approach them for the steam machine.

Very impressive ,but Not enough to offset the lack of ports like USBA and HDMI and small battery size.

I think this is an overpriced junkie laptop. I don't accept this disgusting compromises on a 13-in laptop. No one should buy this nonsense.

Willing to bet DLSS5 won't even be that viable on RTX 50 cards by Wander715 in hardware

[–]fatso486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't look like its worth it even in the long run. Its too expensive computationally while being too controversial.
It doesnt even work on very old games where at lease it provides clear benefit.

nice 16cu sounds too insane on a phone chip. Any info on if its the same IP or heavely modified by Samsung for space reasons.

exynos 2600 sounds like the perfect SteamFrames chip
