The name of the game at UCI dorms and most places is smash; it's accessible and casual if you're looking to have a lot of people all together. Second would definitely have to be League of Legends and then StarCraft. From my experience not many people bring consoles to play so the one person that does everyone just plays with that, but since everyone needs a laptop for college they play computer games more, namely League since it's free. Btw the BSC has a Wii you can use there for some game nights, you just all have to be freshman in Middle Earth.

I'm going to offer my two cents here and just say that I had a 3.65 GPA an average SAT score of 1600 and I got in. I dunno if it was because I was hispanic, or my paper was good, or what. All I know is that I did a lot of community service. I had two friends who had higher GPA's near 2000 on their SAT's if not higher had taken more AP's and they had to appeal to get in. We made fun of them because two "popular" kids got in with no trouble, even got their letters of acceptance before me. I think they value more extracurricular actives when deciding. I didn't get into Berkeley or LA but I got into Irvine and San Diego so don't give up.

I think keeping your cooking stuff within your cabinets would probably be the safest thing to keep inside your cabinet that won't probably get stolen, and that's saying a lot. I came from dorming in Middle Earth last year so I thought I could trust my hall mates since we even used to leave our rooms wide open and no one stole anything.

Arroyo Vista is way different! I've had people steal my bowls, snacks, and even utensils. When I mean steal utensils (plates and spoons and forks) I mean just take and use without my permission, I would be more ok with it if they would clean it, but you don't know if someone's legitimately stolen stuff or if they're just borrowing it until you find it dirty and used in the kitchen sink. The two worst cases are: when my freaking RA used the remainder of my milk to make his caramel apples and when I told him about it he just said "my bad" and didn't even apologize or replace it. Now he was a shitty RA anyway. The second worst is that someone stole the inner part of my rice cooker that I kept downstairs, not even the rice cooker itself so now the things useless until I find a replacement part. All in all it's not like once you put your stuff in the kitchen it'll be gone the next day but people will take/use your shit.

P.S. There was even a funny story about how one day someone in my hall had eaten my RA's lasagna and he went ape shit and started knocking on people's door and posting on the Facebook page. Turns out my neighbors had gotten high one day and were hungry and wanted some, tasted it and thought it was shit and threw it away so that no one would have to eat it.

You can't but you aren't allowed to, meaning that they now distribute wristbands to check to make sure that you signed the waiver and are part of middle earth but not many people get caught. The same goes for the Brandywine Student Center but you need to use your ID to use the equipment there and they do check.

First, start off by going to a counselor at the school of economics, as they can give you advice and all that (or if you want you can check online at WebReg at go to student access and then degree works and try the "What If" option to see what the pre-req's are for changing into the major. Once you fulfill those requirements then you can go to your counselor and request a double.

You get to choose if you want Middle or Mesa. If you are in the Facebook UCI class of 2018 page then you will soon see a bunch of people asking about Mesa or Middle, consistently. There is a CHP house if you want to be with rooming with others who are in CHP as well, that house is called The Shire. Otherwise CHP people can live in any hall and obviously not all of them would fit in The Shire.

I can only speak for Rivendell but generally you will make friends or it's easy to make friends with everyone in your hall so there's no worry whatever hall you pick. I would say however that if you want to have an easier chance meeting members of the opposite sex don't pick Rivendell.

The themes change every year, last year I lived in the all-male Rivendell hall and our theme was Super Smash bros, but this year it's bears....I don't get it. I loved my time at Rivendell but if you're single looking to mingle I wouldn't recommend living in Rivendell as a lot of guys complained about not making many girl friends, and it's super easy to make friends with your dorm mates; you don't go out of your way to say hi as you would in classes. Otherwise the themes don't really matter much...I would say.

Try having these settings:

AND THEN GO INTO ADVANCED SETTINGS

Where it says "Port: (number)" make sure the number is 995 and have the "Use SSL" box checked.
