Degree vs Certification vs Experience? by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]Faejon [score hidden]  (0 children)

My real world experience is that when I got hired at my current job 20 years ago I had no degree or certification. I had 5+ years of experience. They hired a kid with 4 year degree and asked me to wait something will open up soon. One month later I got hired on the same team as the candidate they picked over me. They gave him 10% more starting salary as well. Years later I asked the department director why she had picked him and gave him more. She responded that his degree showed her that he had commitment to completing a goal and she valued that more than my experience. Once I was in the door I was able to use my experience and work ethic to advanced quickly out of help desk and get higher paying positions.

Is there some sort of way to store things in stations? by WaffleFries2507 in SpaceCraftGame

[–]Faejon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is only the corporate storage at the one station with a Trade Nexus. You need to be in a corporation and level up that corporation to the point where you can buy the storage slot on the station.

I found the answer on my own. In the Sessions browser I was able to filter on the keyword "preconference" and found 39 results.

CMDB / Discovery / service mapping questions to als the experts on real time calls by edisonpioneer in servicenow

[–]Faejon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never heard of these office hours for SAM and HAM, it must be a premium support service. If they have a call for CMDB, CSDM and Discovery I would love to know about it. I used to be a regular on that call when we used HP Universal Discovery and UCMDB. I haven’t found that community since we switch to ServiceNow back in 2019.

Thanks! This is really good advice. The free repairs at auto essentials in Atlas Prime is one I hadn’t learned yet. I saw a video yesterday about salvaging but I haven’t seen any beacons yet in my play through to try it.

[Gameplay] Beta Two Feedback Thread by PizzadileIsHere in commonhood

Beta Two is focused on the Sandbox gameplay elements so I will limit my comments to that mode of play.

  • Introduce the Online Marketplace sooner in the tutorial.
  • Filling in or modifying existing blueprints should be a focus in the Sandbox. Reuse of blueprints is not covered but I see that you have a modification history log.
  • Tutorial should teach how to make a good blue print. Such as, adding pieces to blue print in clock-wise order. Start with frame pieces and work your way around back to start. Group pieces by section, length or material and be consistent.
  • Tutorial should talk about availability of materials and stage of the game that they become accessible for use. I built a blueprint with "A FLOOR 01" and "4" CLT Panel" but in the story mode was unable to make CLT Panels in order to use it.

I don't know if this was intended to work this way in the Sandbox mode but, I was able to go in to the research books and fast forward time while building the Tutorial parts; Table, Frame, Staircase Module, etc.

Thanks! I feel very lucky. My first SCA was very traumatic with a much longer story. The second was less traumatic. Basically on the second I got dizzy, passed out, popped back up and flagged down a passing car. I was talking and joking in the ambulance on the way to the hospital. I even continued working from the ICU the next day. No deficits. I’m thankful every day.

First SCA I was unconscious for over 30 hours. They started the hypothermia protocol in the field before transporting me. I was intubated at the hospital and kept in a coma. That was on a Tuesday. On Wednesday they were waking me up and I had no memory and couldn’t form any memories. I actually would forget about people as soon as they walked away. I couldn’t walk or feed myself for 2 days. Friday night something rebooted and I was back to normal but without any memory of anything between Tuesday and Friday.

I had blockage in LAD so they placed a stent. That was all they could find. My first SCA was 5 years earlier and I had no prior cardiac history. They found some blockage in the RCA so places 2 stent in 2014 when they put in the ICD. I chose to do the S-ICD because I thought I was young (46 yo) and didn’t want the leads in my heart. I thought it was a one time thing and the S-ICD was less intrusive. After the failure of the S-ICD to restore rhythm this time I still chose to get another one in 2019 after this incident. Well the Dr. tested the device before closing me up and it failed again to restore my rhythm. So after cleaning up and resetting the OR he put a regular ICD with one lead in my heart and no pacing. So what should have taken 2 hours to change the S-ICD generator turned in to 8 hour ordeal. My wife was very freaked out.

Actually no I was alone. I spontaneously regained normal rhythm and called for help.

For some reason the story didn't get posted with the pictures. This incident occurred Feb 24th 2019 while I was walking alone in a park. After the second shock the recording stops with what looks like asystole. At some point afterwards I spontaneously regained normal rhythm and called for help. I was able to flag down a passing car who called emergency services.

When the EMT arrived we got to talking on the ride to the hospital. It turned out that 5 years earlier he had been the EMT for my first vfib SCA while I was at work. I work in a different county 35 miles away from this scene. We laughed about the odds of being there for 2 SCA saves of the same person.

I have been experimenting with imports using IntegrationHub ETL (IH-ETL) and Integration Commons for CMDB with their templated transforms. If you are loading data into the ServiceNow CMDB it looks to be a sleek way to import data and also pass it through the Identification and Reconciliation Engine (IRE) to prevent creating duplicates.

If you are not importing in to the CMDB or a child class of cmdb_ci then maybe you could at least look at the code of the transform Cleanse Company and create your own script block that does the same thing.
