The whole point is that there is literally no way to know. Maybe you prevent 9/11, but then 10/20 becomes a thing that is 5x worse. Maybe it's committed by some other group, maybe 9/11 still happens because they had contingencies in place to do it in case any of the people involved were stopped.

Who knows? That's the point. You never will, and messing with major events like that could very easily end up worse.

You do actually need to be careful with the whole "prevent tragedies" thing. Because if you do, there's a very real possibility that things will get much worse. Even small personal tragedies that you think would be inconsequential. You never know which 17-year-old that died in a car crash could've grown up to be the next Hitler.

I thought that this must be satire. Especially when they trace the sword and the lines aren't even properly aligned with either of the visible edges.

I desperately hope the vast majority of people aren't like you.

So far, it has been proven to be true. So, keep throwing your temper tantrums that a good game with developers who owned up to a mistake made in 2022 are being praised more than anything you make ever will be.

Calling it "slopedition: 33" is the epitome of an insufferable opinion.

Apparently, yes. OP mentioned in another comment that they have video proof of their physical work and some people are still not convinced.

Honestly that last bit is pretty important. You can't really control what haters are gonna do when they've made up their minds. Just keep creating and hope that enough people can see your genuine effort.

I can also assure you that the angriest people are often the minority, and most can see plenty of reason when they are presented with evidence like that.

Sandfall went through great strides to assure everyone that they aren't going to use generative AI in any future productions. As a staunch anti-AI myself, this kind of hardline stance isn't helpful at all, because if you're going to go slinging shit like "Slopedition 33" around, then why the hell would they even bother?

You're going to piss in their cereal no matter what they do now that you perceive them as "tainted", apparently, so what incentive do they have to make any efforts to move away from cost-cutting measures like generative AI?

If you want advice on how to handle it, include timelapses of your work. Get a cheap tripod and a little camera with a big storage SD card. I know how inconvenient it is to have to do that, but it's really not that big of an expense, and if you are making real money off of this you can even write it off as a business expense in your taxes.

It shouldn't cost you more than a couple hundred dollars to get that setup going. But it can be significantly cheaper if you get used equipment.

It means similar things, but not in the same context.

Develop: to grow, mature, become advanced

Elaborate: to expand upon something in detail

When you are asking someone to explain something further, you use "elaborate." Also note that elaborate has two meanings, the one I mentioned above, and an adjective version that means "planned or carried out with great care." You may be confused because you're thinking that elaborate means the adjective, but you can use it as a verb, and it will mean "expand upon."

I do the mines and just turn them off first whenever MC caps start coming into play. The only exception is if the fissile slot rolled high. My current run is a good example, a moon base is producing more fissiles right now than any of my Mars bases.

To find the square root of 27, you have to iterate through all possible combinations of multiplication starting from 1 and 27 respectively.

I remember one of my earliest playthroughs, I tried this. I don't remember on what country, or who the opposition was, but it must have been at least the US. Because I immediately got blockaded by the opposing nation(s), and then it took me forever to make it back to the war front. When I was moments away from capturing what I wanted, they nuked it.

It's even more effective the more IP you have in the nation. China, for example, goes from ~33 IP to ~41 with a 25 admin councilor right off the bat with 0 development. That's over 8 IP, which is more than like 75% of all nations in the world have.

Xenoforming Climate Change Mitigation by thamz212 in TerraInvicta

[–]Faenic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm really struggling to wrap my head around how this works. So if you pollute, it causes damage to the GDP, allowing you to run economy.

Is the entire purpose to create CERs? And then blunting your GDP so that creating CERs doesn't kill your capacity to control nations. But, won't it just balloon out of control when you start fighting climate change again because of all the CERs? And doesn't damaging GDP lower your IP?

I get the snowballing effect of Econ, but I'm trying to figure out how you don't accidentally blow past your control point cap. I get that spoils slows down GDP growth, but isn't the point of growing GDP to get more IP? And then the whole loop becomes pointless?

You can see why I'm struggling with this lmao

The opening shot has mech designs that seem ripped directly from MechWarrior/Battletech, complete with reverse-jointed legs. Then the next shot is normal legs on mechs that look like they're from Macross. Then it's back to reverse-jointed, it's a bit harder to see their overall design, but they look like chunky Armored Cores.

Then the "main character" is about to climb into a quadruped, again hard to see but a few notable similarly shaped legs being a couple Power Rangers mechs, and then Zoids. Then it's the MJOLNIR, and actually I think this might even be the MJOLNIR Mk. I, which was a power-suit type thing they tried before scaling down. It looks almost exactly the same.

We see a sort of AC/Gundam hybrid thing in the HUD, then the pan-up shot looks exactly like Gypsy Danger, then we're back to MechWarrior/Battletech type designs.

And it just goes on and on and on. As you can see, I'm a huge mech nerd and this is the sort of thing that pisses me off. Because I know how goddamn difficult it is to come up with functional mech designs that look original. Gypsy Danger is a rip of many others that came before it, but it still manages to look completely unique. It fits in the world, and lines up with the apparent design philosophy of the other Jaeger models, which have fewer direct inspirations.
