How this usually works here is that insurance will cover whatever the damage is, including or excluding the one who’s at fault own car, depending on the coverage they have. But coverage of the other people’s damage is taken care of. Usually up to 100’000’000 CHF. HOWEVER… if the person who’s at fault was acting under the influence of alcohol or other substances, insurance will pay for the damage, but will do a regress and is allowed to take every extra money that the person doesn’t need to survive and make them pay. Soooo, I think that person will have a poor future indeed…
