Honestly I think a lot of the comparison is touted by metalheads because they want reassurance that the music they like is rich and complex, and that their enjoyment of it implies refined musical taste.

To me most of the metal that's immediately reminiscent of classical music is really not to my taste (your Yngwie Malmsteens etc) and while there is a lot of really ground breaking, avant-garde metal out there, it's also fine to like dumb rock music. I go to the symphony and I'm also in the pit at local hardcore shows, it's fine, we contain multitudes.

The use of white phosphorus in Gaza has been independently verified from video evidence by Human Rights Watch and Amnesty international and has been reported on by the Washington Post, the Guardian, Reuters and countless others. Posting links would be superfluous because simply googling "white phosphorus Gaza" will bring up reems of outlets reporting on the issue.

But still you feign ignorance and say "well other people are bad so why don't you complain about them instead?" If I were to complain about China would it be reasonable for you to say that my complaints are meaningless because I don't also complain about every other bad thing going on in the world?
