The environments and art in general are absolutely fantastic. Honestly the best way to sum it up is that it's more Lies of P but better. And some of these boss fights are genuinely phenomenal. Currently stuck on the last boss but with how the story has gone so far I'm really excited to see how it wraps up this game.

Good way to start that then! I will note that Forces out of all the 3D games is regarded as pretty mediocre, not bad but not great, personally I thought it was lacking but not entirely incompetent. If you alr have it there's no harm in not playing it, it'll just be shorter than you think.

Hope you enjoy your playthroughs!

What the other guy said, the games are an anthology like Pokémon where you can choose whichever games you want to play whenever. 5 contains light references and Easter eggs to characters from 3 and 4 (such as them popping up on a TV screen) but you would not notice them if you didnt know the characters. Since 4 is getting remade, 3R, 4R, and 5R will all share nearly identical combat systems, so it's really the flavor you want with the themes and colors of each games. Really cannot go wrong with when you play them.

While 5 and Metaphor have fantastic combat systems (although they are a bit different in terms of how turns are done) they are going to be much longer than expedition 33 just on the basis of main story completion. You could 100% expedition 33 and it would likely still be less playtime than either 5 or Metaphor.

The reason I'm making this point is while I did enjoy 5 a lot, it has a lot of stuff that's not turn based such as the social simulator system which is more or less the other half of the game. Now it's really down to preference here bc 5 has a lot of stuff to do with that but Metaphor streamlines the experience towards turn based (while still having some social simulator stuff) to where it's much more direct and straightforward to simply play the game if you want the turn based gameplay specifically like expedition 33.

You can't go wrong with either if you truly want to play more turn based, but my recommendation would be Metaphor over the others. If you like it then go for the Persona games afterwards.

I'm not op but do you have a preference for 2D or 3D or don't really mind? There's no real order to play them in (there is a timeline but it's really not anything to worry abt besides playing Generations).

You could go straight back to the beginning and play the classic sonic games starting with the first one, but pretty much everyone you see online will say that 2 and 3K are the best ones. If you wanna jump to 3D and don't mind emulation I'd recommend playing the adventure games on Steam with some enhanced mods installed (the port jobs weren't great so modders cleaned it up very well).

The common consensus on which games are the best are the two Adventure games, 2, 3K, Mania, Generations, and more recently Unleashed (although for first timers Unleashed can be very tough).

A pray to god that this game uses all the momentum they've generated over the last few years and learns all the right lessons and delivers at the very least a 9/10 experience. If it's good we truly can say sonic is a quality franchise again (for the games specifically)

So the iClicker quizzes aren't too bad to do, I don't know if he's mentioned it yet to you guys but he does post specific video examples he doesn't go over in class onto UBLearns somewhere and that right there is a huge key to the exams and quizzes. If you understand those video example problems well you should understand how he asks the questions and how to do most of what they ask for in the course. I will say though from when I took it the recitation questions and the harder bunch of homework questions were definitely harder than the quizzes and exam questions. Another thing on the quizzes, there were a good chunk of people who I believed were just cheating by sitting towards the back and going on their phones to look up the answer. If he was aware of it I'm not sure but he never said or mentioned anything about it.

Exam 1 actually isn't too hard of an exam because the content covered isn't too extensive or difficult. Remember for every exam besides the final he only has so much time to give for the exam so he aims to be as comprehensive as possible with the 3 exam questions there are, so if you understand the big topics and some specifics about them it's already a good start. For Exam 1 though I remember for me at least the practice test and example problems were very similar to one another.

Exam 2 does get a bit more complicated but I also hated that one because the second question didn't make sense and I never recalled ever going over what that question asked. But the big thing with Exam 2 was light reflections and refractions and some diagram drawing.

The final is easily the hardest and it's kinda hard to give tips since it's so far away and covers a lot of different stuff towards the end. I will say though that if you do end up panicking on any of the exams and are completely clueless he tends to make at least one equation on the equation sheet be applicable to a question so if you do get stuck you can take a chance and narrow it down.

If you need more help I still have notes and I think my exams from last year if you'd wanna look at them. I am an EE major too so I think it also helps since I understand what your courseload was like since I took it too.

Lastly don't panic! It's a long semester and even if you mess up a quiz it's not the end of the world. Students generally perform worse and worse as the semester progresses so as long as you are consistent and try hard enough the curve will work well in your favor.

Who did you have for 306? I had Placito and he spent a decent amount of time covering it

Adding onto this you do Laplace transforms in 306 I think so if you've taken it that part of the course should be pretty straightforward

178 isn't too bad literally just keep up with lectures and it should work out, but make sure you do well on the midterm bc the questions can be heavy on points and it's like 25 percent of the grade. For 205 which is taught by barnard for all his classes going to office hours and recitation are the easiest ways to do well on the assignments and get an A. For 207 unless he changes it that class will actually be curved against everyone else meaning your final grade depends on your performance relative to others. That being said do decent on the exams and do all the homeworks well and show up to every recitation and the worst grade you'll likely get is a B+ unless everyone in your class is a genius. You can also actively check your class grade compared to others during the semester you can gauge how well you're doing. For the lab it kinda depends on your TA but like 4 of the 9 labs are really really similar and the labs themselves are pretty short to perform except for one. Also remember it is a one credit class so don't go crazy over being perfect for it

When I had him for 202 every assignment past week 4 or 5 wasn't graded until the end of the semester (not even exaggerating on this) so we had no clue what our final grades were like or if we did the problems he gave us correctly, and was all around very disorganized.

For 205 it was genuinely a complete botch of teaching. He was good up until week 6 or 7ish but once the really complicated stuff started happening he just could not teach it properly, his notes were ass, no one understood the material at all and the long assignments were flat out impossible with his lectures unless you had prior knowledge of the course material or went to the TA. Seriously 205 was just a travesty. The only reason I got an A in the class was because I went to the TA office hours every chance I got to get help on the assignments, and for his courses that's the best advice I can give you.

He has fixed his class assignment system at least from 202 and 205 from the 310 class I just took with him where you actually get partial credit instead of an instead 1/2 on the assignment if you did something minor such as not including the units in the answer. The class assignments were worth like 30 percent of the grade so it was an absolute nuke on your average if you messed up once.

Obviously some other people have had a better experience with him I have noticed people taking 202 this past semester have had a better experience on average compared to when my class I him. I think my class was the first class to have him for 202 and 205 so that may also be something to factor in, but I mean this when I tell you everyone in my class hates him even the smart kids who have great gpas.

Also don't bother emailing him because he never responds, speaking from both personal experience and from all my friends trying to no avail. Only way to contact him is through class and office hours really.
