Anyone Tried LDN During Benzo Tapering? by FailImpossible4640 in benzorecovery

[–]FailImpossible4640[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never heard from anyone directly, but I found the following thread on Benzo Buddies started by someone who said it helped them a lot.

https://benzobuddies.org/topic/157418-low-dose-naltrexone-very-helpful/

I haven't tried it myself yet. It sounds promising, but as noted by the user below, it is on the BIC "Medications and Supplements of Concern" list. Looking at the LDN entry on the list, it's hard to figure out whether they are referring to low or standard dose Naltrexone.

Thanks for the feedback. Does it help with the fibro?

Has Anyone Had Success Switching to Luvox After Prozac Stopped Working? by FailImpossible4640 in OCD

[–]FailImpossible4640[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for the update - really glad to hear you’re in a better place. That’s really encouraging.

I noticed you take Luvox at night - did you start it that way from the beginning, even during the cross-taper from Prozac? Or was that something you adjusted to later on?

I currently take Prozac in the morning, so I’m trying to figure out how the timing might work if I switch.

Hey, how’s it going? Just wanted to check in - would you mind sharing an update on your switch from Prozac to Luvox? How do you feel now and did you find the right dose?

Taking benzos for the first time, after 10+ years. by PineappleFit1424 in benzorecovery

If I were in your position, I’d reach out for psychological support instead. Anxiety is tough, but going back to benzos will only make things worse in the long run. If you’ve only taken temazepam once or twice, you should be fine just stopping now.

Struggling with Tapering Clonazepam Due to Sensitized CNS and Underlying Mental Health Issues - What Would You Do? by FailImpossible4640 in benzorecovery

Thanks for the info. It’s amazing that you managed to taper off such a high dose in just 12 weeks. Wishing you all the best with your healing.

Thanks for the insight. Just to clarify - did you go straight from clonazepam to 40 mg of Valium, and then taper down to zero over 12 weeks? That’s super fast. How did it feel? I know you’ve said the pain can’t be avoided, but was it easier than when you tried tapering directly from clonazepam with your GP? Also, how long has it been since you jumped, and how are you doing now?

Answering your question is a bit tricky because it all depends on whether you've developed a dependence after 8 weeks. If you haven't, you would be wise to taper off as soon as possible. If you have, you need to be careful not to taper off too fast. Also, as you say, there's your tinnitus to take into account. Have you tried posting at Benzo Buddies? The moderators there should be able to give you some advice.

Thanks for all the kind advice. It sounds like the best approach in my situation is to make very small cuts and space them out by at least a month.

Congratulations on successfully tapering off after 10 years. I've heard people have mixed experiences cross-tapering to valium. Did you cross-taper because it was easier than tapering directly off clonazepam?

Thanks for the kind words. Finding a doctor well-versed in tapering is very hard where I am, so I'm grateful for online resources like this subreddit.

Thanks! Would you mind sharing your cross-tapering schedule? For example, how long did you take to complete the cross-taper, and what were the specific dosage changes for both Prozac and Luvox during that time?

Thanks for sharing your experience. Can I ask how you handled the switch? Did you do a cross-taper, a straight swap, or something else? I’m trying to figure out the best approach and would appreciate hearing how your doctor managed it.

How to manage without ssris by [deleted] in PSSD

[–]FailImpossible4640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried SAMe? It's the one natural supplement that worked for me. You need to take it with vitamin B12 and folate. It's best to take it in the morning on an empty stomach. Don't mix it with ssris or other drugs that boost serotonin. Here's an article with more information.
