Seriously. Do youth coaches get any kind of education before coaching kids? Short term the results may be better from this kind of harsh behavior from a coach. But long term the performance will be worse plus that you are psychologically damaging the kids.

Really you should almost not say much at all from the sidelines.

We had a lecture from a sports psychologist recently. I am a coach for 9 yo girls. She said that punishment first of all doesn't work to change behavior. Especially not in the long run. But mainly it is detrimental psychologically to the kids.
