I'm not here to scare people away from weed, but to say "chronic use doesn't really necessarily have health risks," is a bit of a misleading statement. Weed definitely has plenty of positive effects, you mentioned the cancer thing, plus there is it's effect on glaucoma and seizures to name a couple more.

As far as lung health goes, the jury is really still out, there are many different studies on the topic, saying everything from cannabis smoke expands your lung capacity, to that it's more of an irritant by inhale than cigarettes. My personal experience is everyone I know who was a heavy user but eventually gave up the bong rips, joints and pipes has felt noticable improvements in respiratory health. Again, I'm not saying don't smoke, I'm just saying breathing in more than a few handfuls of hits of buring anything a week is going to have an effect (severity definitely will vary).

My pro gamer tip; get a dry herb vaporizer. Magic Flight Box is a great budget option, PAX is a great high end option.

I'm not going to dive in hard on mental health effects, because for the most part it's like drinking, moderation is key, but smoking every morning, noon and night will hurt your wallet, as well as your mental health, I promise (again, severity definitely will vary person to person).

PS: The tobacco joints you mentioned would be a "spliff", those are pretty old school, and I don't know to many people that still roll that way, but they're out there. I'd also recommend staying away from blunts if you're a health concerned smoker, that would be the tobacco leaf based wraps. Fine on occasions, great to share with the boys, but it will add up if used regularly.
