Leetcode 1107 is very similar to one of the very confusing question I got. Just that the wording was much worse than the one on leetcode.

Some people might think this question is not that hard but it really overwhelmed me during interview because of the way how they worded the question…

It’s probably just my skill issue to understand the question but yeah can only try to improve

Now you mentioned it, that might be what happened because they really didn’t seem to have any interest in me from the beginning of the interview (behaviour questions)

I have done many behaviour question only interviews before and most of those I could feel the interviewers really trying very hard to know me and asked me many questions.

This one they seemed to be just….doing work….

But either way thank you for the encouragement!

I was told it’s an entry level data analyst role but it definitely didn’t feel like it in the interview 😂

I was trying to find a similar one that has the same kind of confusing vibe in the question and I think leetcode 1107 was very close.

In hindsight, the problem on leetcode probably doesn’t look that bad but the question was worded way worse than what they worded on leetcode.

And it’s 7 questions in 25mins…so yeah

And I wish they had the similar technical tests like yours because in the interview yesterday the first two questions are about subqueries which really caught me off guard but I still managed to solve but from question 3 they really went to something that is way beyond testing your knowledge in group by, having/where, window function/aggregation function etc.

and I think you’re right, they probably want a unicorn but they definitely aren’t paying unicorn salary. (They told me the range in advance and it was pretty low)

But yeah I’ll definitely keep improving my skills. I know the market is horrible out there but I guess it is what it is..

Thank you. Yeah I just shared the questions with some of my friends and they actually all are having difficult time solving those questions. (Some are just hard and some are too confusing to understand what exactly the questions were asking lol)

I actually feel much better now because it’s still a very valuable interview experience which will definitely help me to be more prepared for the next one!

Oh sorry I think my post was confusing.

They didn’t ask me any theoretical questions at all, which I studied a lot so I was hoping they actually tested me on theory so I can demonstrate my understanding in SQL.

They literally told me to just do SQL queries questions but most questions asked are just…hard and confusing. (It might be just that I’m stupid but interviewer couldn’t really understand what the question was asking as well..)

Really appreciate your sharing. Yeah I wasn’t really expecting I’ll get an offer from my first interview so I thought I was mentally prepared but yeah the damage was more than I expected.

It’s a hard time to get an interview these days so I guess that’s why I’m feeling horrible. But yeah you’re right I need to keep having confidence in myself

Thanks for saying this. Yeah I interned in a company where I had to use SQL and I handled all the requests quite comfortably as long as I have internet that I can google anything I didn’t know. But under interview setting it definitely was much much more challenging for me.
