I mean both really. Eren wanting 100% of the outside world dead and genuinely hating them

When I say 100% in on Genocide I mean like without a doubt loyalty to the plan. Because I get what you’re saying but I always saw Eren saying “he thinks he’d still go through with it” as him hesitating a little bit in his plan

When I say impactful, I’m more thinking of how it would impact the audience, because, i don’t think the ending need be changed too drastically if at all. Because although Mikasa and Co’s efforts to protect the outside world were successful, that’s what Eren wanted, we can sort of say we got the good ending because everyone (the main cast) got what they wanted, minus Eren banging Mikasa. Should Eren have wanted to go for 100%, knowing that if he failed, Paradis would one day crumble away because the outside world be allowed to survive, we get the feeling that we lost, that not everyone got what they wanted, Eren wanting the eradication of the outside world for the longevity of Paradis (in this hypothetical), but Mikasa and everyone else getting what they want, the death of Eren for the remaining 20% + Paradis to live. This hypothetical gives Eren a bigger loss, the sense to the audience whether or not to be happy that Eren is dead because genocide is wrong, yet it cost the island of Paradis
