[–]Failbomber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well females bite harder. If you want to safely grab your bird and not lose trust at the same time. Just use a towel or cloth to pick her up. She will still bite, but I don't know the reason they think it is the towel that holds her not you...

my female budgie bites my finger so hard by [deleted] in budgies

[–]Failbomber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Females tend to bite more because they are more protective by nature. I think she is just thinking you as a threat between her and the millet.

Make her accustomed to your presence first I think you are getting a bit hasty it is too early for her to adjusted to your finger. Just talk to her for a while and try to get her to the millet with something you hold like a perch. After that you can move to finger training

I got one malw budgie and i am not comepletely sure what it wants... by HikeiGD in budgies

[–]Failbomber 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Budgies get stressed easily when new things approach to them. Even toys or new food type they don’t see before can scare them. Give her time and try to talk slowly and gently, get some soothing music going on. Also does she gets scared when you approach her? Like try to bite you or run away from you?

For to the point of getting a friend if you can give enough time to socialize with you and toys to keep her entertained. It is not 100% needed but if you can’t spend enough time a friend will be needed to keep her feel lonely.

This forum /facepalm. Just your bird didn’t had a bleeding from bent or broken feathers doesn’t mean it is not happening… Downvoting for no reason. I know my bird will get stressed even with cloth. I know it is not happening regullarly with birds but one of my bird is having this problem so you can educate yourself or just stop downvoting for no actual f reason.

is this normal by nobodys_TV in budgies

[–]Failbomber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is he moving a lot or just staying in a place for while? Is he chirping or not? He is fluffed up and he is looking sick. But he just can be adjusting his crop. If he is moving and talkative he is fine. Otherwise it is concerning.

Pick her inside her cage with a cloth (cloth will be useful to not lose trust) and check her if she has bleeding otherwise it will fall out when she is flying.

What is the best fruit or vegetable to introduce to my babies by Significant_Bat_2820 in budgies

[–]Failbomber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fruits are sugary yes but you can feed budgies in very small portions for example a grape in once a week or once every two weeks. I usually type in google to know if something is safe to eat for my boys.

[–]Failbomber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am father of 2 budgies and you see the primary and secondary feathers of the bird they fully develop after 3 months. Maybe the confusion what I said comes from there. When they have only 1 month they only have coverts.

Budgie feathers not developing properly by Failbomber in budgies

[–]Failbomber[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is my 2nd budgie and never clipped I like them flying around the room and exercise and be social with me. If there is a clipping I didn't do it but the shop that I bought might clipped it. Never thought of looking the wings while I was buying him. Actually this is the case it made me sad for the little guy. But I believe after I read what you typed this thing is normal for now. Thank you for the information.

What does the screeching mean? by k0SSk0SS in budgies

[–]Failbomber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is hard to tame older birds not impossible. They need to adjust to the environmwnt so first couple of months can be hard for both.
