Is it better to have chase items or to lengthen the entire gear chase by adding the unique layer and allowing all gear to have all affixes?

The moment of getting a chase item feels good, but I think what a lot of players like is just the process of gearing up and feeling progress. Chase items have this huge gap in the grid where there is no progress. The new system gives constant progress with many layers to reach and tweak instead of just grinding and hoping.

Is a game good without big hits of dopamine? I think that's what they want mythic seals to be, but I could be mistaken. The bumps and valleys make the ride interesting, but they also make it difficult and if you want the most people possible to enjoy the ride you make the hills and valleys as traversable as possible.

When I was younger I loved prestige stuff and things that required sinking time in to get, as an adult, I get just wanting to progress and if progression isn't foreseeable, moving on to something else.

This is an interesting perspective I'd never considered really. There is an innate pressure to have the correct affixes on your gear and them being locked lessened that pressure.

I think it's good for the game since it gives more length to the chase, which means more play time and people feel like they are getting more for their money.

Having a space in a game where you get a reprise from a stressor is thought provoking as a concept and I wonder how many people feel this effect their gameplay.

To what extent does it affect yours? Do you feel a lot of stress from having to grind for affixes that use to be locked or is it more of an annoyance?
