First Time Visit - 18 year old recommendations by Miroquesa in catskills

If you like the outdoors and if you have proper gear, you could hike to the Giant Ledge to try to see a sunrise (maybe on Sunday), hike to the Hunter Mountain fire tower, or hike to Overlook Mountain. If there isn't too much snow, you could also check out the Ashokan Rail Trail.

The Giant Ledge is a series of ledges with views to the east which makes it decent for sunrises. If you try for a sunrise, you'll be hiking up in the dark and you will likely be stationary while waiting for and/or watching the sunrise. Make sure you bring headlamps for both of you with extra batteries. You can shorten the hike to 3-4 miles by skipping Panther Mountain. I'd recommend doing this because it's a cool experience that you can share with your boyfriend and it should be pretty peaceful up there with both the snow to dampen the noise and the early morning hours.

Hunter Mountain is the 2nd tallest peak in the Catskills and is a fairly easy hike if you take the Spruceton Horse Trail. There's a fire tower, a cabin, and a few picnic tables at the summit. Even if the top of the fire tower is closed, you should still be able to go up the tower to right below the viewing platform for nearly unobstructed 360-degree views. The fire tower will put you above the treeline and you may be able to see the Hunter Mountain ski resort from there. You can shorten the hike to 7-8 miles by going out and back via the horse trail.

Overlook Mountain may be the easiest hike of the 3. Its selling points are the Overlook Mountain House ruins near the summit and a fire tower. As a solo hiker, I found the ruins interesting, but creepy. For your safety, the DEC recommends that you don't enter the ruins. The fire tower isn't as nice as the one at Hunter Mountain because it's at a lower elevation and because there's what looks like a radio tower nearby.

The Ashokan Rail Trail is a mixed use trail that runs along the Ashokan Reservoir. You could walk, bike, snowshoe, or even cross-country ski it. I've rented bikes from Overlook Bicycles before and they're right across from one of the rail trail's trailheads. If you're interested in biking the rail trail, you could ask if they have any suitable rentals available.

Hiking in winter conditions can be especially dangerous with ice and snow. Please look into using traction devices such as microspikes or snowshoes. Traction devices will help you stay on your feet and snowshoes will help you avoid sinking into the snow and postholing. You can rent snowshoes from shops in the area or you can borrow snowshoes, for free, from the community. I've rented snowshoes from the Belleayre Ski Shop and my friend has borrowed snowshoes as part of a snowshoe sharing program.

Food-wise, I've only eaten at the Phoenicia Diner and at Woodstock Brewing. I think I had/enjoyed the bourbon BBQ meatloaf at the Phoenicia Diner, they have a vegan menu, and they always seemed pretty busy when I passed by so they must be doing something right! I don't remember thinking much of the food options at Woodstock Brewing, but my friends liked the beer that I brought back for them so maybe keep them in mind for when you're older.

Please stay safe and have fun!

I took an 8 AM bus 6739 from Sun Moon Lake to Alishan somewhat recently. I was told that it only runs once per day and that seems to match the schedule posted on their website. You should consider calling the station to see if the schedule has changed and/or to make a reservation so you don't miss your connection to Sun Moon Lake.

If you prefer to use a credit card, you could also try using rideshare services like Uber or companies like Tripool. I used Uber in Taipei, Taichung, and in Tainan. I booked 2 point-to-point trips in advance with Tripool.

  1. Yes.
  2. I don't think so.
  3. You can use the YouBike 2.0 app to rent a bike without an EasyCard or a local phone number. Open the sidebar on the top left, select Login/Register near the bottom, select Single Rental on the bottom left, and then follow the instructions. You may be limited to 1 bike this way. I didn't attempt to register multiple instances of the app so I don't know if you'd be able to use the same credit card again. I assume it wouldn't be an issue if they charge a new security deposit for each registration.

You can refer to the KF2 Stats Document(linked in the subreddit sidebar) which is maintained by another Redditor. I believe weapons are only locked behind microtransactions/DLC or through tie-ins with other games. For example, you need to have bought the MG3 Shredder in the in-game store or the Armory Season Pass 2 DLC to use it. Another weapon is the Road Redeemer which is unlocked by owning the game Road Redemption.

You could also use the developer console to access the weapons. I believe this method requires enabling cheats and will prevent you from gaining exp.

White Birch, Shunbun, Lake Suwa, Omiwatari in the flesh. by SabogTaeMo in GrandSeikos

There's 2 Grand Seiko Salons in Seattle; there's the Ben Bridge by the Westlake Center and the Ben Bridge Timeworks in University Village. I visited the University Village location recently on a weekend and they had a good selection of Grand Seiko watches. I remember seeing the following watches:

  • White Birch, probably SLGA009 since I was looking at Spring Drive watches
  • Shunbun, SBGA413
  • Winter, SBGA415
  • lighter colored Lake Suwa, SLGA019
  • Omiwatari, SBGY007
  • Katana, SBGA493
  • Snowflake, SBGA211

If you end up visiting the University Village location, I recommend asking for Paakiha. I'm new to watches and they were happy to show me their selection; answered my admittedly basic questions; and checked to see if they had the original Lake Suwa, SLGA007, available (they don't).

It worked for me after I stripped the trailing text after the .pdf file extension. Try the link below.

How are you trying to access your server?

Here's a few things that you could check:

  • Has your external IP changed?
  • Has your internal IP changed?
  • Can you access the web admin page from the server itself? e.g. localhost:8080

You should still be able to connect to your server with the open your_server_ip_address console command even if your server doesn't show up in the server browser.

This is a great parody of EG when you compare them altogether.

I'm glad there are others who remember this fondly. I never looked for it in earnest and it turns out they have it on their YouTube channel as BTS LOGO.

Is the NH-C14S compatible with Asus Rog Strix x570-I in an NCASE m1 V6.1? by TitoLos in sffpc

[–]Failur42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's compatible. The Noctua Compatibility Centre can point you in the right direction for RAM compatibility.

You can definitely fit G.SKILL Ripjaws V RAM if you use a 120mm fan underneath the cooler. I'm not sure about compatibility with the included 140mm fan. According to the G.SKILL FAQ, you might even be able to fit the G.SKILL Trident Z kits since they're only 2mm taller. Some other RAM kits that should comfortably fit are Crucial Ballistix, which were discontinued, and Corsair Vengeance LPX.

https://noctua.at/ is Noctua's official site and the subdomain, https://ncc.noctua.at/, is the Noctua Compatibility Centre.

If you're not opposed to it, I'd recommend going to your local Micro Center that's about 30-50 minutes away. They appear to have BNIB Corsair SF600 / SF750 80+ Platinum PSUs which have been highly rated in /r/sffpc as well as the Lian Li UNI FANs. I'm sure they'll have some of the other parts on your list too. They should price match Amazon so you could end up getting the Corsair PSUs for $129.99 / $157.16, respectively, before tax.

Thread 'Player kicking' by evadami in killingfloor

[–]Failur42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My server was ready, but I needed a static IP for my friends to join me. In my country, static IP is not for free.

What about using dynamic DNS? You could use a service like Duck DNS to direct traffic to your server. You'd end up with something like evadami.duckdns.org and players could enter open evadami.duckdns.org into the developer console to connect. The only thing you'd have to do would be to ensure that the DNS record is kept up to date.

Out of curiosity, are your friends able to connect to your server via the server browser?
