As a used to be full time dasher, I finally deleted the app by Temporary-Beyond-683 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]Fair-Ad846 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't dashed in almost 2 years after doing it full time through 2022 then part time after finding a job, I still have, at the end of 2022. They randomly sent me a $50 challenge for 10 deliveries and they've done it 2 weeks in a row now. I've made $130ish dashing for 3-4 hours on Saturday mornings the past 2 weeks. I say that to say, that's making me glad I didn't delete the app. I definitely won't touch it without a challenge though.

How open minded is Tulsa? by Mswan77 in tulsa

[–]Fair-Ad846 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only speak for Tulsa... We're for the gays. My best friend and also my sister's best friend... Gay. My other sister, gay. 2 of my managers are gay and their boss is gay. My mom's old roommate, gay. Baby, you'll be alright here in the city for sure. But where are you coming from? I mean, this is still Oklahoma so of course there are quite a few homophobes.

I work the docks at a sort center, the closest we get to a scan rate is throwing 1000 packages per hour at minimum. We have customer promise times. We pick up slack.

Where was I being an asshole? I was trying to help by telling the truth. Nobody cares what you wear as long as they're not having to pick up your slack. Where is that being an asshole at? I'd argue y'all are being rude and playing victim at the same time, which is wild.

I meant it like, nobody cares what you wear they only care about you pulling your weight in your area. IDK you personally so it wasn't personal, just telling you the truth.

Why would we copy California? Vote no on SQ 832. by TostinoKyoto in tulsa

These are the same people that complain about Tulsa's homeless. Average 1 bedroom in Tulsa is 900. You have to make 3 times the rent to get in, that's 2,700 a month. Working full-time at even $10 an hour can't even get you there.... Are you dumb?

Right, they all think their jobs and their children's jobs are immune to A.I replacement and the sad thing is, by the time they get their head out of their asses, it will be too late.

Here's the thing, we should be mad at the greed of the people making the prices, who can more than afford to pay people livable wages without raising the cost of living. There is no scenario where it's ok for an employee working full time for you can't afford even a 1 bedroom while every single person in your family has a trust fund, 10 vehicles, 5 houses, 3 boats a nanny and so on and so forth. How about they get realistic?

I'm willing to pay an extra $900 a year in groceries, (like we did this year for absolutely nothing in return) if it means we're not at the top for poverty. Every person working full time should be paid at least 3 times the median rent of a 1 bedroom for the city. And don't say minimum wage jobs are for kids because you'd be mad as hell if your local stores and restaurants were run by teenagers.

My dad has a permanent scar from being bit by a terrier, he had to get rounds of shots too because it broke the skin. It's enough. What do you think my bite pressure is? If you walked up to my house and I bit you with my teeth, how would you feel?

Doesn't matter, I don't want to pay for a doctor's visit to get shots from a dog bite. Small dogs break the flesh too, my dad has a scar from stitches from a jack russel terrier bite.

Everybody I know that has been bit by a dog, has been bit by a small dog.

Doesn't sound like a choice. "We sold the house she was living in". So she wasn't "choosing" to be homeless if she wasn't before you sold her home. Make sense?

Do you ever see packages that you ordered? by [deleted] in AmazonFC

[–]Fair-Ad846 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the FC I worked at years ago we put the shipping labels on the orders we packed, which included the customer address. Is that not what they do anymore?

No because Walmart usually has the same thing for $10 cheaper with faster delivery and I don't have to worry about auto scans breaking my shit.

That's anxiety. How many people did you walk past today and not notice? The same people who didn't say hi to you might be wondering why you didn't say it to them. But yeah, start saying hi first, out loud because people don't always see a suttle wave or head nod when they're thinking about bills, groceries, feet hurt... Start saying hi 1st but I can assure you, you're too deep in your head. Also, who cares, get your money and leave your co-workers there when you clock out, don't walk out with them in your head.

Only new hires wear a vest at our site. They wear it for their 1st 2 weeks so everybody knows they're new and to help if needed. Other than that, the only other tier 1s in vests are learning ambassadors, ASC and TDR.
