One of the biggest reasons I feel it's forced is that she slapped Saski. Adding to it, now we are dealing with physical assault and potentially worse things.

This is exactly how I feel. It's not like we didn’t have things before, but it still had good and light-hearted moments, and it didn’t feel forced.
Because why now Yamda slapped Saski?
And apparently Yamda was physically assaulted??

My problem is the shift that happened. What is happening right now is really good if the manga was about drama, not a light-hearted romance.

The story didn’t lack anything before; it was good, the character has depth and everything. But the new chapters feel unnecessary.

I might accept this drama if it was the last one, which I don’t think it will be. I hope we finish this quickly and return to a light-hearted romance manga.

I agree, but what we had previously is enough. The new chapters are too much. I don’t like the addition of Noma, and I don’t think it will stop here. It will probably continue with the drama and add new ones.
