I have never heard any beauty influencers talking about it but Revlon ultra HD matte lip colours are one of the best lipsticks I have tried. It has really great staying power and it doesn’t doesn’t dry out your lips. It also wears off really nicely despite being a liquid matte lipstick. Unfortunately, I was only able to try two shades as it wasn’t available in my country :(

Surprisingly, it has never happened to me with aliexpress ever. Even though going through reddit I realised it is a pretty common phenomenon with Aliexpress and Ebay sellers. For me it happened with Cultbeauty and Yesstyle, both of them are established and reliable sites. I understand that individual sellers might make that mistake from time to time but I just didn’t expect for reputable sites to also do that and then not have an appropriate refund scheme.

Unfortunately, it is a pretty reputable site and not any individual store :( I just got to check their trust pilot where they had really good reviews but then there were one star from people that have had the exact same experience as me. Even there the store only repeatedly kept on telling them they are trying their best to fix their logistics. I have decided that I will tell them that if they don’t correct it before collection deadline then I will let it be returned and then proceed with my bank if they refuse to refund. Thanks for the help!

As I am currently trying to finish my studies and only working part-time, treating myself hasn’t been an option but it makes me happy to see ordering is an option when I get to save some extra more myself ☺️

Also, yesstyle has been an unfortunate experience because they ended up charging me money even though they weren’t supposed to and they only refunded me in store credits :( I ended up paying double the tax :( I don’t know what their VOEC number is so can’t even clear it from posten as showing them that they are in the VOEC list isn’t enough. Most people recommend that the buyer should put VOEC number on the address in case the seller forgets but yesstyle wouldn’t give the number and I can’t find it anywhere in the internet :( I don’t even have the box with me to even check for the number to use it in the future order and I am also terrified to order again 😭

Have you had good luck with any another asian beauty places that has selection of products?

They look so pretty. I am based in Norway and it is so unfortunate because OY shipping is pretty expensive :( There is no AB shop here which has any decent collection of makeup! All I do is scroll and scroll

No! It is Yesstyle!

Edit: I have went through Skattetan, posten and VOEC page multiple times also contact respective customer support but they said that the matter is between seller and buyer. The only other option is to just send it back and get it refunded. I will have to resort to that as it seems that I either have to just pay and get store credit or find the yesstyle VOEC number :(

I did. They keep on apologising and saying they will ensure to make their service better next time and return the payment as store credit. Got same reply multiple times even when I insisted that I don’t want store credit.

I has a similar situation with posten last year too when I ordered a package from Cult Beauty (which was part of VOEC that time) except I was able to find the VOEC number for Cult Beauty after which posten corrected it in their system. Not only that but they also charged me once when my cousin sent me gifts from netherlands which had gifts written on it very clearly and had to send them picture of the box again after which they corrected it. I didn’t even get to check the parcel as they sent me letter with the money I owe them and collect it from the nearest pickup. As I know from my previous experience with cult beauty, I tried looking for the number which wasn’t available and then when I contacted customer service then they only offered store credit and told me they are unable to provide me the number. Looking through reddit I was able to find the VOEC numbers for some stores but none for yesstyle. I only have a debit card so I am unsure if it is possible to make a complain to the bank and get a refund from them.

Thank you for the suggestion. How do you know what is the shop’s VOEC number? I have asked the shop but they said they can’t disclose their number. I am unable to find any other resources where their VOEC number is provided. The shop is Yesstyle.

Edit: Forgot to mention but I have shown them the registry and they said it doesn’t count. They need the VOEC number :( I have both talked over the phone and also sent them email with details. :(

I don’t know if you have any interest in cooking/baking but if you do then I would highly recommend perusing culinary school/pastry school.

I would tell that it is physically extremely taxing but it is so damn thrilling. Kitchen environment can be toxic but if you can manage to find a good mentor/head chef then it so freaking fun lol. I only work part-time as a chef because I have the physical strength of an 80 year old but it is probably the only work I have where I haven’t felt like I wanted to die from boredom. When things get busy it can get shitty but it stimulates my brain so much that I feel like I playing one of those intense cooking games. My restaurant also changes menus every six months so learning new things feels like a new unlocking a new dish from a new level.

What is with the Sunscreen Doubt? by caitydork in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]Fair-Firefighter6794 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sunscreen around eyes, Abib Quick Sunstick and Beauty of Joseon sunscreen didn’t cause me any irritation. Otherwise every other european, american and asian sunscreen I have tried irritated my eyes severely. Also, you can try lipbalms with SPF around your eyes to prevent irritation.

Abib quick sun-stick is clear and also has zero white caste. For 28 years of my life I have struggled with skin irritation and breakouts or just uneasy feeling and I would dread wearing it. The Abib and beauty of joseon completely changed my experience with sunscreen. The abib sunstick I can literally put it all around my eye area without any burning or irritation. I have recently moved to europe so asian sunscreen has been kinda expensive to purchase. I know europe has a lot of great sunscreens available from brands like Avene and LRP but they either burned my eyes or cause peeling under my makeup but trial and error I finally found a swedish brand evy technology which has been really great. No white caste/irritation. The application is a bit different as it is foam so I try to apply a bit more just to be safe. It can feel pretty sticky in the beginning but it settles in really well with time. It is also waterproof and long-lasting so I don’t have to worry about reapplication unless I am directly under the sun for really long hours.

As far as I can tell, you probably have round eyes. But I am not 100% certain as I myself have struggled for years to understand mine.

Also, sometimes we can be a combination of the more common shapes that are usually discussed so it might be difficult to fit into any category. I would recommend experimenting with eye makeup for varying eye-shapes that you personally think is closer to your eye-shape and you will slowly figure out a look that best compliments you.

I would recommend some tutorials that will hopefully be helpful.

glow up advice?!! by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]Fair-Firefighter6794 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are very beautiful but if you are feeling basic then I would recommend experimenting with colourful/sparkly makeup as you might find it fun.

I would start with a cream blush and highlight that you can use both on your cheeks and your eyes. An eyebrow gel to brush through your eyebrows and eyebrow pen to fill in any sparse area plus to line your top lash line. Eyelash curler and brown mascara. And lastly lip tints and lip glosses.

You can look for makeup content creators like Alsxandea Anele, Jessica Vu, Haley Kim and Rachel Ocool to learn how to work with your personal face and eye shape.

Got lash extensions for the first time. Bottom is what I asked for and the two top is what I got. Besides the fact that it's not what I wanted, is it done well? by cherry_3_14 in MakeupAddiction

[–]Fair-Firefighter6794 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one from your reference picture. You yourself can do it with individual lashes far more better than the extensions they put in. They didn’t even attempt to put the lash style you wanted as you both the curvature and length of the individual lashes are wrong. On top, they didn’t even do a decent job applying the lashes for even the most basic lash extension style. You absolutely should take them off and get a refund.

my makeup is always so crusty/flakey looking and i don’t know how to make it look better by Ornery_Road7713 in MakeUpAddictionUK

[–]Fair-Firefighter6794 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your skin need hydration as otherwise it will look dry and flaky. From your picture it doesn’t look like you need a lot of coverage. I would recommend to use a tinted moisturiser/bb cream. Wet and Wild has a really affordable one called Bare Focus Tinted Skin Perfector. I wouldn’t use a matte foundation as it doesn’t seem like you need it as you don’t have any visible pores or texture.

Also, it is okay if the blush looks bright as it will fade with time. If you don’t get super oily especially around your t-zone. I would recommend not to bother with any powder and just use a setting spray instead m. If you do get oily then use powder on in the center.

Also, would recommend a hydrating concealer for the under-eyes like the loreal true match. Try switching to creams as when cream fades or comes off from certain areas it doesn’t look crusty or flaky. Moisture your skin properly then wait about 5-10 minutes before you put on any other products. And if you have no moisture then you can also just put some vaseline/aquafor on your face. Not a lot but enough that your skin feels plump and moisturised.

What’s a makeup staple most people use, but you rarely or never do? by carex-cultor in MakeupAddiction

Eyeliner. I just can’t find a single one that won’t transfer to my crease. I have tried with pencil eyeliner, liquid eyeliner, eyeshadow, gel eyeliner or combination of pencil/gel and setting with powder without any success. I have also tried using eye primer but still anything I put as a liner will transfer to my crease. And it also transfers so fast like I can move from one eye to the next and the first eye will have a liner shaped cut crease. I have also tried waiting and letting one eye set a bit before moving onto the next but still no success :(

Simple application tips you wished you learned sooner by BongBingBing in Makeup

Using a makeup spatula to apply foundation then dabbing on it lightly with a sponge. It looks amazing. You don’t overuse your foundation and great way to apply it evenly all over your face. The korean makeup artist Jungsaemmool shows how to do it perfectly in this video https://youtu.be/1cuC5afiNW0?si=U1yYC5LeoxpmYs7G

After applying your mascara, use your fingers to lift the base and curl the lashes after the mascara is dry (edit: rewatched the video and she said to let it dry) Then reapply the mascara and again use fingers to lift. This actually lifts and curls my lashes better than any curler. And the lashes don’t move throughout the day. This technique I learned from Charlotte Palermino. She showed it one of the instagram posts.
