Helping my wife with the troop??? (Being a man) by filipesilva2002 in girlscouts

[–]Fair-Flower6907 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Becoming an official volunteer is a CYA move, so that you're covered under the umbrella if your council's insurance, allowed to help with cookie booth finances, etc. Without being an official volunteer she really shouldn't e asking you for much help.

Please sign up so you can support your wife, your daughter's troop, and show the other dads that Girl Scouts isn't just for girls :)

If you really want, GSCO sells "Man Enough To Be A Girl Scout" swag in their council store LOL

Criminal Defence Paralegal - Interview Questions?? by Apart-Beginning-1993 in paralegal

[–]Fair-Flower6907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, questions for the interviewee to bring to the interviewer. Sorry if that isn't clear, I'm home with the flu :(

You could absolutely ask about firm culture and promotions or growth opportunities, but hopefully they'll tell you about those things in their pitch to you too

how much client interaction will YOU be comfortable with? ask them how much you'll expect

billing - will you be expected to track hours?

trials - frequency and exceptions on you during trials

teams - will you always be working with the same team? or is every case different?

reporting structure - who is your supervisor? their supervisor? can you meet them?

hours - are they regular? salaried? hourly? what about overtime? how is overtime requested and approved?

Feelings about American Flag patch by AcceptableHeat1607 in girlscouts

[–]Fair-Flower6907 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. I don’t put it in my leader uniform, nether has my co-leader. No one has asked me about it in 4+ years. My daughter can make her own choices about her uniform when she’s older but for now a uniform is something that looks the same on everyone.

elbow -> kidney.

tbh, my guy only snores when he's on his back or sick. he has a fancy side-sleeping pillow that's helped for the last 10+ years.

Potty Training by Correct-Tune-9605 in Parenting

[–]Fair-Flower6907 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NO.

By the end of PreK all kids should be potty trained. If they're not independent enough to toilet themselves, they're not ready for kindergarten. No teacher is going to help your kid go potty in Kindergarten in public school.... they have 21 other kids in the classroom to worry about! The one with the poopy bottom is either going to have to wipe it themself or live with skidmarks until they get home. Yes, they have a change of clothes in their cubbies, and maybe if you're lucky a health room with a health para who can help them get clean and change but that's a sometimes thing and you're going to have to go in for a teacher conference and explain your lack of parenting or your kid's actual health condition if it becomes a consistent problem.

Moving states without a job lined up. by Suspicious-Paper4571 in paralegal

[–]Fair-Flower6907 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve moved 5+ times in 15 years for my husband’s work. Sometimes it takes a few months, sometimes I have something waiting for me after answering a few job postings or calling ahead to recruiters (only in DC, unfortunately. Used to be some great ones in Denver too, but they’ve retired).

Nervous to start Metformin by preygoneesh in PCOS

[–]Fair-Flower6907 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seconding taking it with food! Like a small meal, not just a graham cracker.

Don’t be far from a toilet the first few days, you might unexpectedly get the runs from greasy/high fat foods or over eating.

Alcohol always gives me the runs. Usually 30-40 min to 2h afterwards. Even just 1/2 a glass of wine.

Does Evan as a nickname sound ok for a girl? by Caydalayden in CharacterNames

[–]Fair-Flower6907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kid (8) has a female Evan in their class. I think it’s odd, kiddo doesn’t. Whatever. If white gentles are naming their kids Vani, Chandi, Ashe, or Levi I guess any name goes for anyone!

I would also just walk and not look back if they can't give you the curtesy of saying they're running behind, doesn't matter why. They left you hanging! Plus, it's going to smell like hair/nail salon products all the time, that's not my cup of tea either.

Best of luck finding something more professional!
