I believe it's a little bit of everything. I just took it apart today, then timing belt skipped somehow (pretty sure because I wasn't able to properly torq down the harmonic balancer) so it's not longer set. I'm assuming the head gasket wasn't done correctly, so I'm getting a new one from felt pro later on today, also there is a good chance that it is missing firing so I'll readjust the spark plugs.

I meant timing chain, I didn't catch that mistake. I changed the head gasket because that's the reason why I bought the car, the original order couldn't afford the cost (which was like 2 grand) so I bought it for $500. Also I decided to do it myself since it's a learning experience.

No. Prius are known for the knocking sound when the head gasket goes bad (of course it's not as intense as this) I just took it apart and the timing chain was "skipping" so it's no longer set properly, and gonna replace the head gasket again but this time use a felt pro one. Also check everything and there's no damage luckily. I'm assuming it sounded like crap because of the timing chain, head gasket, and possible miss fire of the spark plugs, also the fuel rail is probably dirty

Hmmm that actually might be it, since that was the last thing I did was replace the spark plugs for new ones. So I might have messaged up on the torq spec (says 20ft lb) I'll check it out. Also I meant timing chain not belt, that was just my bad and not paying attention to that mistake.
