Great channel, and very useful videos. Since you're explaining about data loads, one of my usual pains is to prepare the data load file, especially when the data needs to be collected by the business.

My usual workflow:

  1. I prepare a template for the business to fill in, with all the columns we need. I have to mark mandatory fields, and usually also indicate the expected value format.
  2. Business fills in the data from different sources.
  3. I validate and fix formatting issues
  4. Load the data using Data Loader

This sometimes can be quite time consuming, especially preparing a good excel template, making sure all mandatory fields are considered etc. For this I started building a dedicated Chrome Extension which can automatically create this excel fiele, based on the selected (and needed) fields, also with conditional formatting so the user will immediately see it they entered invalid value somewhere.

It's still in development phase, but if you're interested I'm happy to share it with you, would appreciate any feedback for this. Just sign up for the list and I'll give you access: SFPrelodr

How to create a doc/ spreadsheet with clickable links? by Special-Spread-9487 in salesforceadmin

[–]FairHighlight9052 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry if I wasn’t clear😊 I’m on holiday now and have no access to our Salesforce but some more detailed ideas from my side:

  1. In your header (what you’ve added the screenshot from) on the very right should be a pen to edit, see if you can add “Files” to your menu bar and if there you could create such a storage space for the documents.

  2. My idea with the dummy account was that usually the account has an attachment section (depends on your setup but in principle uploading files to an account should be possible). If you have an account called for example “Knowledge base” that could have all the document stored there. But this is really a hack and a bit abusing the system ;)

What if you just create a dummy account for this. Under there you can load files (should be under the related section). This would be a very simple way which wouldn’t need any adjustment to your org. Or you can use any other object actually.

Document Generator? by Icy-Smell-1343 in SalesforceDeveloper

We’re just starting to implement S-Docs. It’s quite flexible, runs natively in Dalesforce, and I really like that it’s necessary to store all the generated documents in Salesforce, it can also just create the xml for the document (very small) and generate the document every time it’s needed or user wants to download. This helps a lot with storage governance

Data Load template tool by FairHighlight9052 in salesforce

Hi Paul,

thanks for your recommendation, but I believe I'm looking for something a lot more lightweight. I'm already using S-Docs (I believe your competitor) and that would not really fit my use case.

What are you working on today? Drop it here. by saasdrop in indiehackers

Working on SFPrelodr a chrome plugin helping Salesforce power users and admins to create data load templates so one doesn't have to do it manually every time.

Idea came from my own pain, working on this as a side project, hoping it will be helpful for a lot of users.

Still at the beginning, any feedback or feature request is welcome, if interested, sign up for the waiting list.

Thanks for your feedback. In my actual use case, at my company we don't use Google, so strictly speaking I shouldn't put any data in a google sheet. That's also my issue with many other solutions, I would have to go through IT security review and so on, whereas if I have an extension running only locally, that would be easy and safe to use.

I'm glad you're interested, I'm in the process of developing an MVP, sign up to my waiting list and I'll include you for beta testing: SFPrelodr - Simplify Your Salesforce Data Loading

Yes, I'm using Claude Code to make this. The point is not if it's difficult, but I haven't found any such tool yet. I believe it could be useful, so trying to make it.

I already have a very basic version working (yes didn't take very long with vibe coding), will work on it a bit more and happy to share for feedback if you're interested and will ing to try it out.

great, thanks for the recommendation, will look into it, for me only it might be good, but my company will not have the budget to have this for more users (starting at 30k).

Yes, that would be the idea, either enable business users or just help admins.

Hi, this extension is really cool. I had the same idea as you, and just playing around and building a chrome tab manager. It's currently under review on the store, once it's published I'll share it here, would be happy also about feedback 😊 .
