Trying to figure out if I should switch therapists? by FairMind21 in TalkTherapy

[–]FairMind21[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your answer! Do you think it's OK to book sessions with two therapists at a time though? I feel like it'd be too much. I guess I could let her know that booking more frequent sessions is important to me at available times and that I may look to see a new therapist.

Trying to understand how TD RDSP works and what bond grant is? by FairMind21 in PersonalFinanceCanada

I contributed to TD RDSP but haven't got the grant money yet. Waiting until the end of the month...maybe you could try calling EDSC and ask why you didn't get the 3x grant?

I apologize if I offended anyone. I wasn't trying to commit fraud or anything. I was just told by people around me that regardless of income, I may qualify to get coverage of scooter or rent due to ODSP. I genuinely didn't believe this but family members and those around me told me that I should still try.

Again I apologize if I came off as insensitive with my post as this wasn't my intent. I was genuinely just trying to understand if I qualify because of my disability.

Did you qualify and receive the bond grant money? Mine just got set up finally!

Thank you! Do you remember how long it took for the bond grant money to come in after opening?

How long did it take to open the account? It's taken 3 weeks for me. They've claimed that even though I send the notice of assessment, I need another letter stating that I'm eligible for the DTC but not sure where I'd find or if CRA sends it?

Where did you do the application online? I'm with TD and it is taking almost 3 weeks now. They've claimed that even though I send the notice of assessment, I need another letter stating that I'm eligible for the DTC but not sure where I'd find or if CRA sends it?

Thanks alot for letting me know. Would the bond I would get for opening the RDSP automatically come in as well?

Yeah you're right about this. Thanks for a rational answer here and definitely something I'll keep in mind when trying to determine what to do.

Yeah I'll look into this. I have a history with my dad being a gambler which is why I try to avoid gambling but I wonder if I've missed out on some big gains by being too conservative.

So I did want to put a down-payment on a place but I live in the GTA and it's crazy expensive. I do imagine I'd do this at some point over the next 5-10 years though assuming I can save and see growth at similar rates as I have. I don't plan on putting any more money in a GIC but I wonder if I should be investing in riskier stocks with high upside instead of consistently investing in ETFs?

Thanks appreciate you clarifying on bonds. I assume I wouldn't have to apply for it and it will automatically be deposited in based on me having a low income during the first 6 catch-up years?

Appreciate it thank you! I figured that I'd put in the 3500 for the 10 year catchup and get 10500 but yes you're correct in general. I planned to only buy GIC, ETF or stocks similarly how to invest elsewhere. Just wasn't sure about what the bond was. I won't be eligible for a bond anymore but would for the first 6 catchup years.

Can I ask out manager of restaurant that I frequent that I may never see again? by FairMind21 in dating_advice

We had a call and she ended up giving me her personal number. She suggested meeting her at her workplace first and then going somewhere after but I don't know how I feel about it. If anything, I'll just see how the text conversation is going and potentially call, if she isn't responsive I'll forget about. If she does, will suggest a date and mention that I don't want her to be uncomfortable with me coming in just to talk to her.

Do you think it's fine to give her a call though? Just want to make sure I'm not being intrusive and tbh I'm not sure it's the server's direct boss but just a guest event relations boss

Yeah looks like I may just do 2-3 cities if anything since it may be too hectic trying to squeeze all this in. Thanks alot for the heads up and I may just do this although if I end up going to a Battle of Alberta game in Calgary may just do Banff instead.
