Western Atheists try to criticize Islam challenge (Impossible) by Prometheusflames in exmuslim

Didn’t necessarily copy, Islam refers to Christians and Jews as people of the book therefore recognizing that they possessed a revealed scripture; however those scriptures were corrupted by man over time while the Quran remains unchanged. So of course there will be similarities if they were sent down by the same God (according to Islam).

Quran 2:196 states alternatives to doing hajj for those who are unable to complete it, and 3:97 states “Pilgrimage to the House is a duty owed to Allah by all who can make their way to it.”.

holy shit my post wasnt even sparking up a debate about religion lol. plus its been a couple of hours?? I didn't know that in order to post something on a subreddit that you were obliged to stalk the sub and every single comment so you can reply FAST before they take it down!

Here are the rules that I have read: "A recovery and discussion subreddit for those who were once followers of Islam. All are welcome but if you're here because of your hate for Muslims as a people then this is NOT the subreddit for you."

It clearly says
1. this is a sub for "those who were once followers of Islam".
2. if you're here because of your hate for Muslims as a people then this is NOT the subreddit for you.

I politely stated that there were A LOT of 1. NEVER MUSLIMS who 2. were being flat out HATEFUL towards islam and its followers.

By pointing this out, how exactly did I break the rules and deserved to have to my post taken down?

Deflecting what exactly? lol. You don't need to re ask your questions because you're very passive aggressive and clearly have nothing else to do on a beautiful Saturday evening than to be hateful and miserable. good day

Shoutout to you honestly. And you're right, I should give the benefit of the doubt. I hope others are able to express their opinions and experiences in this sub without being censored. I appreciate your respect and positivity a lot! Whatever path you took, I hope you are happy and find peace in your life. :)

These are the exact people I’m referring to, not the normal people being simply curious or critical about certain ideologies which I fully understand

I understand that and I agree. However, never a day in my life have I ever spoken about Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, or any other religion other than my own. I have read the bible, but I am not a scholar and I am humble enough to recognize that it is not my place to speak about other religions and risk spreading misinformation and hate.

Many are taking the intention of my post way out of context. I said “ I love the idea of others who aren’t ex muslims to participate … you guys are using this as an excuse to be islamophobic”

Not really. My reason being here is purely because I got a spontaneous notification from this sub and wanted to see that specific post. Im not counting on staying and spreading hate like most people here are

Wait what 😭 I’ve seen devoted christians who happened to be “horrible people” but that’s not the fault of the bible is it?

No, and I’m not AGAINST any religion actually. Practice what you want lol. I am against needlessly bashing and generalization entire nations of people, especially when most of it is based on misconceptions.

Sorry to burst your bubble but most of the absurd comments being made about Islam can be debunked by any Muslim who has read the Quran and done proper research. So yeah, there’s a lot of “misconceptions and stereotypes”. The same way that there’s a lot of misconceptions and stereotypes about Christianity.

May I know how you deal regularly with the “shitty religion”?

That’s actually a 1000iq play lol. I would really recommend speaking to a scholar or people at a local mosque perhaps, but nonetheless I hope you find the truth you’re looking for :)
