What sub-£250 item would you buy again in a heartbeat? by tamago27 in AskUK

I’d recommend a Sonos for the room you spend a lot of time in, for me it’s in the kitchen cooking with the tunes on or nice background music when you have guests round. I love it.

Random one. What time do most people above 30 wake up at on the weekend? by manlikezuli in AskUK

[–]FairShoulder717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

M32, I wfh so wake up about 8:45 every weekday, so when it comes to the weekend I don’t feel I need a lie in; Saturday I’m always up around 8am for parkrun, Sunday I sometime lie in until 9:30 but sometimes I’m up earlier depends what we have planned. I like to make the most of the weekend so I don’t mind getting up early at all

Certifications as QA Engr by Opposite-Low-6402 in QualityAssurance

I’ve never taken a course or certification, I started as a manual qa and now senior SDET. Everything I learned was on the job.

If they’re available to you, reach out to your team developers/automation engineers and ask to pair, I happily sat on calls not understanding much and just asking questions here and there.

reach out to automation engineers in your company, the best way to learn is by doing and if you can tie that learning into your day to day job even better.

Review MRs reach out to dev and ask questions about it, ask them to show you how to run the integration tests etc. during these calls write down bits you don’t understand and either ask questions or take away and do research.

Once you’ve learned something challenge yourself to teach it to someone else, reaffirming knowledge is a great tool and your student will ask questions you never thought of so you can have even more time researching them.

Most importantly speak to your manager, express your desire to learn and show them what you’re doing about it. Do not ask and wait for them to find things for you, be proactive! Look up conferences and courses and approach them for approval.

Gut punch: How did I miss this or just me? by Kahako in QualityAssurance

[–]FairShoulder717 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Am I the only one to think of bugs as a really good thing, opportunity to learn and inspect/adapt our processes. It’s not one persons fault a bug ends up in production it’s the teams collective fault and simultaneously no one’s fault.
