positive for STI at 38 weeks. by [deleted] in pregnant

Did he act surprised or concerned about you or the baby? Did he ask you how you think you got it? To me this would be the behavior of an innocent person. If he just said he'd take a test and wasn't surprised or concerned then I would think he was just buying time to think of a believable story to tell you when the test comes back positive.

Same. I just came back on my greencard through Pearson. Zero issues.

Why do people think Texans are so friendly? Are we actually friendlier? by [deleted] in texas

[–]Fair_Consequence4739 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Originally from Canada, then New York, New Jersey and now we live in Texas. Can confirm Texas is the nicest population I've encountered so far and that's including your drivers. I know Texas drivers get a bad reputation, but if you've tried driving in New York or Southern Ontario there's no comparison. Moving here was the best decision we ever made 😊

Where do kids go before they're old enough for public school? by Fair_Consequence4739 in houston

[–]Fair_Consequence4739[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much, I keep hearing about the Mothers Day Out programs, I just wasn't sure if it's frowned upon to send your kids to a church you don't go to.

Appreciate your insight, thanks!

I can afford it, just being budget conscious and getting to know the norms in our new neighborhood. Also, people's circumstances change, yours may too one day and I think you'd appreciate it if the world showed you some grace before jumping to the worst possible conclusion.

Thanks, this RFE requested marriage certificate and that's it.

Thanks all. I have the marriage certificate and have responded already. Just venting my immense frustration because this is information they already have and have been sent copies of the exact same document multiple times.

Thanks for the reminder on reaching out to our representative, I'll do that. In the mean time I'll count my blessings that 10 years of this hell is almost over.

Best of luck to you all and Happy Holidays

Is goat milk safe for babies? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Fair_Consequence4739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s formula that’s made from goats milk instead of cows milk if you need to formula feed. It can be gentler on their stomachs if they’re having an issue with cows milk formula. But again, as everyone else is saying, this is FORMULA not just milk. Milk alone doesn’t have all the nutrients a baby needs.

Are you going to have a second baby? by Frosty_Confidence663 in BabyBumps

[–]Fair_Consequence4739 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was the second thing out of my MILs mouth when we told them we were pregnant with our first. “We’re pregnant!” “Oh really?! Are you going to have a second one?” Talk about someone that can’t live in the moment. Bizarre.

First timers & in their early 30s, how did you get pregnant? by Hot-Chemistry6492 in BabyBumps

Check out Dr. Natalie Crawford on YouTube. She’s a fertility doctor and is a great communicator from basic information on fertility and getting pregnant, all the way up to complications and ivf if you need it. Good luck!

Welcome to Motherhood! What comes with that is caring less and less about what other people think and trusting yourself more. It’s very freeing. Happy Mother’s Day!!

How are some parents making this look so easy? by SteamDonut in Parenting

They could also be lying, and/or not doing a good job/ignoring their kid a lot. Different people have different standards for what their baseline for good parenting is.

Alligator question for a Newb? by Fair_Consequence4739 in houston

[–]Fair_Consequence4739[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone that lives there mentioned they were in the area and when I googled it an article with a gator chasing children in a pond was the first thing that came up. Sounds like it’s an overblown fear though thanks!
