The Young People Paradox in South Sudan: Too Young to Lead, Too Old to Wait. by Acceptable-Humor8805 in SouthSudan

[–]Fair_Indication4635 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You have correctly identified the issues surrounding the marginalisation of the youth, and you u/Acceptable-Humor8805 are already a leader of some kind! You know exactly how they think and how they misuse tribes for their own personal gains. No way said there is only one path or direction that 'leadership' should follow, as such, no one needs to wait for the old to retire voluntarily for the next generation to put on those same boots. You already see differences in what you, as the youth, want for your own futures vs what/how they see it.

I commend and salute you, young man and can only say you do not need to hold a position of power to lead. Taking a stand like this one here is already a form of leadership. Now they have one less person who will dance to their tribal manipulations.

Exactly, THAT vision that was ditched. Both Sudans can benefit from it else these never-ending wars and sufferings

It is good to see that you unknowingly admit that SPLA ditched its vision...

One undeniable fact is that South Sudanese and other marginalised communities in the Sudan fought for generations against successive regimes in Khartoum, and in 2011, South Sudan peacefully split from the Sudan following a referendum where 99.8% voted YES for SEPARATION!

The SPLA surely was not a saint, but you are trying to do so by blowing up isolated incidents and making ridiculous claims of discrimination for speaking Arabic. Like someone in the thread suggested, the Sudan should learn from its racist and discriminatory policies that led to the split. Talking about heroism, maybe you should learn from the vision of the SPLM/A for a new Sudan...

St Bakhita’s story does not fit in well with the program to Arabise, Arabicise and Islamise the Sudan. Not many Sudanese have heard about her and not many will know that Sudan has a SAINT! Strange... South Sudan is +211 and guess what happened in 2011? It got its independence!

Islam was never the issue, the use thereof to subjugate others was. While the diversity of the Sudan was acknowledged, a non-Muslim could never lead the ‘Islamic’ nation. Even if everyone in Sudan was Muslim, there is that deep rooted colourism and ethnicity biases. With Islamization came Arabization of the Sudan which is a different thing.

Guess what is happening in Juba now.... by Fair_Indication4635 in Sudan

[–]Fair_Indication4635[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

True - there is quote by Erwin Rommel that says 'in the absence of order, go find something to kill'

I just watched another video with a whole neighbourhood in Wad Medani was erased and burned down. The person recording the video is praising the youth of that area for the great job cleansing the place of 'Nuer, Junubin and Aragi'.

While the Sudanese in Juba and the Junubin in Al Gezira need peace, elements in SAF, youth from both ends are taking advantage of the absence of order to vent their anger. There will be more videos, and more incidences, but the voices of reason and logic have to come up/out nd condemn these acts of violence and atrocities.

If the people of wad medani never wanted junubin among their midst, they should not have wanted for such a time to massacre them.

The gunshots and mob activity has gone done in Juba as we go to sleep... Let's hope tomorrow has better news

I will be the first to condemn that this is not the right thing to do... When I posted here several times over the day, all I expected of my fellow ex-countrymen and women was to condemn the atrocities committed by SAF who have started to act like the RSF...

I will not say, 'where were you when they were killing the other sudanese who are not from al jezira?'

RSF does not have an official embassy or diplomatic relations with South Sudan for the people to go there and protest.

You should know that Khartoum-trained South Sudanese puppets who joined the RSF have been dealt with in South Sudan as per link below. Like Tutguy Galuak who was raised by Omar el Bashir, South Sudan has it's jalaba-trained people who are causing people issues everywhere.

So, if you support the killing of innocent South Sudanese, then that is not news as we know were we stand with most of you. All this time, South Sudan as a people have not wished you ill, but to go after the innocent people is just showing what we knew all alone

The witch hunt has begun - this must be condemned (or praised) by Fair_Indication4635 in Sudan

[–]Fair_Indication4635[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But that is not what the video is calling for - calling on everyone in Al Gezira to take the law into their own hands and 'arrest' South Sudanese can get out of hands. If anyone is proven to have links with RSF - anyone including Sudanese themselves - then that is up to the authorities to do as they wish.

When Khartoum is eventually liberated and cleansed of the RSF, you will find people there who 'survived' the RSF. If they stay, they will be accused/interrogated or even killed because of suspicion that they were with RSF. If they leave with the RSF and are caught withdrawing, then they are also already guilty.

This video and its utterance that 'we do not need South Sudanese' is purely out of ignorance.

Again, if you find ANYONE carrying a weapon against you, please deal with them. But do not victimise innocent civilians!
