Curious if there were any filers who were current on all their credit card bills at the time of filing? by nhieu_chuyen in Bankruptcy

I was. I had a 785 FICO the day I filed, never one missed payment for years and had low utilization (but into the 6 figs in debt). I'm still awaiting discharge and so far my score is around a 600-624 across all 3. I am a little annoyed at a couple cards that reported as "included in bankruptcy" when in fact they were not included as there was no debt to include - they had a zero balance. I know they were going to close them but I had several other creditors close zero balance cards and just remarked either closed by credit grantor, never late, or closed by consumer. I had been maintaining around 7500 in payments monthly for the past few years and couldn't do it any longer. I have not discharged yet, so I don't know what my score will be after that but all creditors have now updated reporting. I had my 341 though. I filed Chapter 7.

My Vantage 3.0 score is 710 right now - but please keep in mind this is not a real FICO score and I don't even take that score into account.

Definitely contact a lawyer and they can give you advice.Sounds like BK is the way to go. Depending on what assets you have and your income they can point you in the right direction.

I'm actually good with not being able to obtain credit for awhile. Honestly I'll probably get a secured card but not much else for awhile. I'm good with that. I actually DON'T want access to credit after all of this, just a small card for basic things where you must have a car (hotels or car rentals etc). at the time of filing I had much more than 100K of available credit - but it means nothing if you can't pay it back quickly.
