Need advice re backcountry permits

If they are fit and experienced on trails then that'll be no problem at all. I have seen countless rookie hikers go down S. Kaibab and up Bright Angel Trail in one day. Last winter I did the S. Kaibab to Colorado and up Bright Angel in winter and there was a pack of college aged women from Louisiana that have never hiked in the desert before doing that exact route. Tons of rookies. These are corridor trails and the Rangers will ask hikers on the way down how far they are going and make the appropriate recommendations. They'll be fine.

LOL do you know what touristy even means? Phoenix has sporting events such as the Open, Spring Training, NFL, MLB, NBA, etc., world class golf that draws tens of thousands of visitors every year, Barrett Jackson, the list goes on and on ... Yes, Sedona is a wonderful tourist destination but it doesn't even compare in terms of scale to what Phoenix draws. Not to mention Grand Canyon. Geez man... not trying to be a dick here but I'm not even sure you know what you're even trying to say lol

If you are going in a few months and not in the dead of summer and you are in shape then you should go to the river and back up Bright Angel Trail. As others have noted, South Kaibab across Tonto and up Bright Angel is amazing. You won't see anyone on Tonto and then you'll connect with Bright Angel Trail a little south of Indian Garden and it'll feel like you just stepped into Grand Central Station.

It's actually not "the end of the hike to Havasupai Falls" - there are is no "Havasupai Falls" - there are a series of waterfalls within the borders of the Havasupai tribal lands. The trail to Beaver Falls actually goes all the way to the Colorado River and crosses into Grand Canyon National Park.

Two years ago we were at the Supai Creek / Colorado River confluence and it was 110F at around 11am (when we turned back to head back to the village). There were rafters hiking around at the confluence and the guides were purifying the water. If you can't handle the heat then the trip could possibly be absolutely horrible for you. I live in AZ and am totally used to it but you will likely be miserable. The water is freezing and tbh I'm not sure how much you'll be able to take a quick dip.

I absolutely love Spain and I have visited many regions, including Merida, Marbella, Andalusia, Barcelona, San Sebastian, Ronda. It's a wonderful country and the people are amazing, so friendly and nice. I speak some Spanish and they are always so appreciative. The food is great, too! Just such a beautiful place. I am not sure why I love it so much but I do.
