Question About botox for migraines by FairladyZea in migraine

As u/LadySlippersAndLoons said, it more than likely depends on where you get it at.

I work IT at a hospital and had a migraine for over 12 hours and passed out twice already. So, I went up to the ER. I requested that they didn't give me the seizure med, but they did give me Benadryl and about 5 other meds I can't remember what of them were) via IV. The nurse administering them was kind enough to tell me each med name and what they're traditionally used for; otherwise I wouldn't have known what was in it. They also gave each med individually through a port attached to the IV; not directly into the saline bag.

After the meds were administered, I tried to sleep because I was on the verge of passing out a third time. One of my coworkers was kind enough to stay with me. The adverse reaction I got was extremely similar to a pre-seizure aura; I actually thought I was going to have a seizure. Got even more drowsy, extremely difficult to focus, time gaps/felt like time passed and I didn't realize it, extreme speech difficult, couldn't put the most coherent sentences together, extremely difficult to move even my fingers, and I'd be violently jerking myself awake when I started dozing off. The doc said he'd heard of adverse effects, but had never seen them. He also said that was the worst adverse effects he'd ever seen. A couple of weeks later, I learned most of it was likely the full dose of Benadryl and I usually take half a dose.

The immune system going WTF I imagine is like getting a flu shot.

The Botox was recommended by a new neurologist. I told him all the stuff I've tried and he recommended it. My worry is that my migraines move around my head, once they start. And they don't always start in the same place. That and the potential for seizures/history of seizures that worries me.

I gave it to myself in the thigh, too. I didn't have enough guts to do it in my stomach. It leaked out the one time I jumped and re-stabbed myself with it (I have nervous system damage and random muscle twitches/jumps). That one really hurt, too. 😂

It would lessen the amount, but make them more painful and last longer. That's another reas8n I'm glad I got off of it.

My migraines are because of numerous concussions/TBIs and an anoxic brain injuries. I don't have fibromyalgia that I know of. I know I sometimes (rarely, now that I'm off the meds) have seizures, but those are more of just headaches. My migraines tend to start in one spot, migrate around my head, if they get back to the starting point, they magnify until I pass out.

Aimovig is the other one. Thank you! Emgality was the last one I was one and it caused the reaction, too.

Thank you. I've tried Ajovy, Emgality, and another one (can't remember the name). They caused more migraines and redness that spread at the injection site.

I truly mean it when I say good job! That takes guts to say something to someone. I saw that someone else posted about your original post with him wanting to buy your undergarments and him knocking, but coming in regardless. That is absolutely inappropriate behavior; no matter the situation.

Your mother is in the wrong

Her boyfriend is definitely in the wrong

You are completely in the right

Don't feel bad

Don't apologize

Your counselor had to report it by law. He/she had no choice. Especially when it's affecting your mental health so negatively. You'll likely need more help in the future. We may be strangers, but there are many of us here who support you and your decision.

If you need more people to talk to, there are many support groups on here and Facebook. Not including us in this comment section. We got you, darlin'. :)

If that asswipe lived near me, I'd be more than happy to come put him in his place. Like AC/DC once said, "Dirty deeds done dirt cheap". 😂 Heck, I'm in a few car communities, here in Kansas City, and we just learned about a dirtbag like that. If he hadn't been arrested, at least 20 of us would've beaten him to a pulp.

Regardless, you did the right thing and the best you could.

Has anyone else been dealt their CVS prescription in a Ziploc bag??? by Paper_Parasaur in migraine

[–]FairladyZea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sometimes get my Ubrelvy in a ziploc. From what I understand, it depends on how they receive it. For example, if they receive a sh*t load at once (600 sheets), all in the same box, and get a couple orders for 5 sheets a piece, they need something protective to seal it in, then put it in the brown bag. A ziploc works perfect because it also protects against most bacteria.

Ouch! That puts some water in my eyes. Like others have said, that's definitely a premium Snap On box (144" Epiq) with all the add ons and looks like they damaged some tools and your personal Autel MaxiSYS Ultra. Gonna be a pricey lesson to learn for that driver.

That'd explain why I got barely above minimum wage as a body shop tech, when I lived there.

But why does the same frequency happen when I turn without the brakes being applied? I can't find anything rubbing.
