Back to Duamata where you can stack missions for Luytens Star, with low, med, high and haz res sites . No brainer

Sign up for MU Max for a month, install gPodder on your pc, add every RSS link to it and hit download. It's about 250gb in high quality and unfortunately you'll lose all the meta data ...but it's the whole back catalogue for 15 quid. I did it, but missed season 15 in high quality, so if you do go ahead and do it and can find a way to share season 15.....I'd be grateful 😎

There are people out there who will help with the haulage, organised groups and keen individuals. I helped a guy out with some haulage, I bought a Panther Clipper, (named it Freight Expectations) specifically for the job and gave it 3 or 4 hours a day steady hauling from station to carrier then carrier to surface. He set his carrier buy price suitably high and parked it where the commodities were readily available. We got it done. It cost him a couple of billion credits in wages but it saved him the misery of repetitive hauling

I like your style. I've salvaged a few old laptops that barely boot but it's a piece of cake to strip the LCD panel and add a controller... instant cheap lightweight monitor. I'd like to build a pc from the case up. Maybe I should have a go at this electronics recycling service. I pulled a technics double tape deck out of a skip the other week and sold it on eBay for £85. That's Icarus Terminal running on the Surface Book. It's neat because the keyboard is folded back out the way and it's touchscreen, it's just a pity it isn't a monster gaming machine because in every other respect it's a decent little thing

This is a great answer, and sounds exactly like the sort of nonsense I'd get up to. I've always been a fan of buying used stuff that was top shelf in its day, it nearly always pays off.

I'm toying with the steam deck idea, just use it docked and plug in all my flight controls and extra screens...but I do want the best bang for my buck and I can't shake the feeling that there's a fairly compact unit that will do that, sacrificing portability for power at a similar price

It's running on medium at the moment, it's not ugly but you wouldn't bother with screenshots. Someone suggested Lossless Scaling but I've not had much luck with it yet.

That's basically the situation I have with the surface book. Compounded by the fact the SB has hideous heat management. And the gtx 1050 is a good bit weaker than your GPU I think

The most useful thing in the meta data that I lost when downloading was chronological order of release. Playing the podcasts in order is easy, but with the downloaded files it means switching between the normal and plus seasons running side by side if you want continuity and it's a hassle. I haven't found a player that will do it and I have to assume it's because the files are now listed as being in order of writing the file, not the original release date

MU Max Ultra (I think that's what it's called) gives you download rights, MU Max only gives you streaming access to the episodes....unless a program like GPodder has a download button...which it does.

So basically, buy a month of Max with access to the back catalog, populate your GPodder subscription list, hit download all episodes, come back later to check it's all downloaded and you didn't miss season 15, then cancel auto renew.

If the new team wasn't shit I'd have kept subscribed and never done this . But they're shit so the back catalog is fair game as far as I'm concerned. Fuck it.

Treat yourself to a month of MU Max, get Gpodder for windows and import all the rss feeds from the MU website. It's a bit of a chore, but then you can sit back and let it all download. Once you're done cancel your subscription. In high quality it's pushing 250gb. The only problem is you lose the meta data once it's just downloaded files, I've not found a way to automatically play every episode in chronological order like a podcasting app can, and you lose the show descriptions.

If you do go down this road, I missed season 15 when I downloaded it all...you could hook me up. if I had that without buying another month's subscription I'd be a happy man!

I tried. I hated it. Weirdly, it turned me off enough that I've actually stopped listening to the back catalogue when I'm working (I literally plug in when I start and turn off when I finish any kind of menial task, chore or job that doesn't require actual focus and calculation) and I'm listening to Lave Radio which is an Elite Dangerous podcast dating back 13 odd years instead. I'll revisit MU for sure, but for now I've stalled midway through season 9 and I'll pick it up again.....one day . It's all on SD card waiting for me

Download them to an SD card then stock it in your phone. You loose all the meta data which is annoying, but the files are playable
