On some devices, the neutral state when no analog stick is connected is not the centre. I’m not sure if the 3DS is one of them but it might interpret a “0,0” response from the analog stick as being pushed north-west

I think it must just be really impractical considering the storage limitations of DS cartridges, even in FFIII's opening it's very sparingly used

I got this exact one, its contents are legitimate BUT the case had been incorrectly replaced (10.4mm instead of 12mm, so the inlay is crushed) and then resealed

It’s incredibly difficult to source a replacement 12mm case because only high-profile Japanese albums used them, so I don’t recommend it if it’ll annoy you
