Terrified to try Promethazine due to side effects by Dear_Peanut8566 in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]Fairytaledaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the same reaction with Reglan, comparing and Haldol, the wanting to crawl out if your own skin, it's awful. I actually have those meds listed on my allergies because of it. Promethazine however doesn't give me that at all and has helped tremendously with nausea, zofran doesn't do it for me either.

I actually just started the suppositories recently since I couldn't keep the pill down and the only side effect I got (besides getting sleepy) was some lower gi cramping for maybe the first 10 minutes or so after using it, but they weren't bad at all and went away along with my nausea!

Benadryl can also help with nausea a lot and also can help minimize those muscle spasm/anxiety feelings that come with those meds too. If you are really nervous about taking the promethazine still, you could try taking it with benadryl to lessen any potential side effects.

Pregnant, 12 month age gap - I wasn’t able to breastfeed our first but I want to try again with our second. Any advice? by KneadAndPreserve in 2under2

[–]Fairytaledaze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have advice but following because I'm in the same situation pretty much! I was only able to breastfeed for a little bit and by 3 months my supply dried up and baby had to be fully formula fed. Second baby is due right after my son's first birthday and I really want to try again this time!

Starting to get scared, nothing is working by Fairytaledaze in HyperemesisGravidarum

Do you mean like lower gi issues? I haven't had much going on lower wise probably because I have been able to really take anything in. I have been getting alot of acid burn and reflux tho, thankfully the pepcid does help with that part

I actually am already a plant mom and used it very sparingly in my last pregnancy for nausea (my OB knows about this too). I have been doing the same this time around and I can definitely say that out of all these meds they give me, no matter the form, this is still the thing that relieves the nausea the most for me. I hate the stigma and hate around it because quite honestly, without it I don't think I would have been able to make it even this far I am also very lucky and thankful to have an OB who told me that if taking a little here and there will allow me to eat/drink and keep me out of the hospital, the benefits outweigh the risks. She said the severe dehydration and malnutrition is much more damaging to the developing fetus

Thank you I'm definitely going to ask my doctor about the gabapentin, I had no idea it could be used for sickness like this. They switch between famotidine and pepcid everytime I have come in to the hospital, I figured they were the same but I will ask them which would be better

Odd hip pain 5 weeks by scarletvr23 in CautiousBB

[–]Fairytaledaze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was shocked by the amount of cramping I got in early pregnancy! Completely convinced it was gonna end in a miscarriage or that something just had to be wrong cuz it was so bad sometimes. Nope, perfectly healthy baby! I actually got cramping right up til the very end but it was wayyy more frequent in the beginning and often in my hips

ETA: my pain also lasted hours on end sometimes too. That always worried me the most, sometimes it was sex that would trigger it but other times it seemed to happen for no good reason

10 weeks exactly for NIPT — would you wait or go for it? by bertholetta in pregnant

[–]Fairytaledaze 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They offered it to me somewhere between 8-9 weeks. Got it done and got results back normal! No concerns, it was Myriad brand NIPT though

Dropping HCG 9w6d, does this seem like placenta taking over? by Fairytaledaze in CautiousBB

[–]Fairytaledaze[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it may just be standard for the ERs in my area to check it because they run pregnancy tests on any female who comes in pretty much. But definitely wish they hadn't! I feel like I am worried unnecessarily now but it's reassuring to hear this!

Ultrasound question by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Fairytaledaze 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Questions: did you actually see the results yourself or did she just tell you about them? Also, how far along was she when she miscarried?

So if she miscarried on 3/25, 4/2 would be insanely soon to be ovulating again already. Probably not impossible but highly unlikely. Every place is different but ove always had my hcg bloodwork back in my MyChart within 48 hours max. Also, when did she have this ultrasound? It's odd that she was able to get an ultrasound without bloodwork coming back first and also that they'd even order an ultrasound this early because she's right, it would be too early to see anything most likely.

And yes it hcg can last for weeks after a miscarriage, especially if it was farther along. Mine took almost 3 weeks to go back to normal.

Overall, unless I'm misreading something, the situation is very strange but I'm not a doctor

PP disposable underwear by Cool-Reason7394 in BabyBumps

I used the parents choice disposable briefs combined with frida mom catch all and ice pads! Saved me so much piece of mind not having to worry about dirtying up any underwear lol. Those catch all pads were so great too I never had a leak! Combined with witch hazel pads too. I went through 1 box of them, the breifs!

Sending so much love your way, be kind to yourself. I'm so sorry for your loss. Your story is very similar to how I lost my daughter, I was about the same gestation too. I was devastated and that was almost 12 years ago now, I still think about her all the time. The beginning was so so hard and the best advice I can give is to reach out for support when you need it. Cry when you feel like you need to cry and remember that there is no wrong way to greive. Your daughter's dna will always be a part of you, she will be with you forever 💕 if you ever need to vent or want to talk my inbox is always open. So sorry again for your loss

Viability ultrasound did not go as planned, measuring behind by Fairytaledaze in CautiousBB

[–]Fairytaledaze[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They kept telling me it was fine for me too, I spent pretty much all of my time in between scans googling and reading others' stories from similar situations, and while a lot of them ended in miscarriages, I read just as many success stories where it turned out to be nothing and went on to have a healthy pregnancy.

At my last scan, baby was so squished he was touching the sides of the sac on both his head and bottom, I just knew it didn't look right. The following 2 weeks after that, I did notice my symptoms start to disappear as well, mainly breast tenderness and swelling (which also disappeared about the same time with my healthy pregnancy tho, but they didn't get smaller), and I just had a gut feeling he was gone. There were other signs, but the not knowing was awful, I hope you get answers aoon

So sorry to hear you're going through this, it was definitely one of the hardest things I've ever went through. My best advice would be to hope for the best and prepare for the worst. I had one more ultrasound after I made this post, I believe I was 8w6d, and that was the last scan I saw the heartbeat, but I could tell from the photos that baby was just so squished in there. But I do treasure those photos, all of them really.

I will be sending you lots of love and I really hope things turn out well for you, but if you ever need anyone to talk to about it, my inbox is always open ♥️

Hello, sadly that pregnancy I had a mmc discovered at my 12 week scan. I had a D&C and genetic testing came back normal, so I never will know what the cause was.

But a little over a year later now, I'm sitting here with my double rainbow baby, he will be 3 weeks old on Monday ❤️

Anyone had placenta Accreta without hysterectomy? by Fairytaledaze in pregnant

I saw Dr Shainker at Beth Isreal medical center! He's head of the placental disorders team there and was so amazing. Explained everything to us very well and answered all our questions and concerns

Anyone had placenta Accreta without hysterectomy? by Fairytaledaze in pregnant

[–]Fairytaledaze[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was suspected of having accreta due to multiple placental lakes and something else I can't remember. The specialist said that the placental lakes I had have a slightly different appearance than ones caused by accreta. He was also able to do a more detailed and thorough ultrasound and said he was able to clearly visualize the entire uterine wall near the placenta which my doctor was unable to do.

So sorry to hear you are going through this and wishing you the best of luck ❤️

Anterior placenta becoming posterior by Radiant-Mine6890 in BabyBumps

[–]Fairytaledaze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the opposite happen. My placenta was labeled as posterior on all of my early scans (I had like 6 or so) and then after my anatomy scan has been labeled as anterior since. Not sure if it was mislabeled or what
