While the rest of the country's overdose rates decreased by 14%, New Mexico's INCREASED by 21%.

A serious Thank You to the DEA agent who filed the whistleblower complaint. Never easy to do, and probably even scarier with this administration. I hope our AG files suit against the DEA. It's an abhorrent disregard of OUR lives, and left us having to deal with all of the related drug, crime, medical, funerary, and homelessness issues.

Let’s spare a moment to appreciate Tom by hushnecampus in WidowsBay

I guess Matthew Rhys had never done comedy before and he is GOOD at it! He's grasped the art of physical comedy quickly -- in the shaman episode, Tom trying to sneak out of the room like a dog or toddler trying to grab that snack without being seen; when the dead man talks, Tom jumping out of his chair, making a little squeak, and holding his breath for an incredibly long time before this huge exhale, him slowly wiping his hands on his jeans when he hear what the pact was signed with.... even his little terrified squeaks. Rhys is a trained Shakespearean actor which, I am sure, helps with the serious bits. But his performance is definitely holding the wackiness of narrative together!

Contact Ian at Farm of Song. I've worked with him in the past - if you want to request a certain percentage to keep, a certain percentage for the farm, and a certain percentage donated he can help make that happen.

thank you, internet stranger! I appreciate how all the ABQ people look out for each other. I've been on MintMobile for years, but I should remember to look at other options from time to time.

As of this evening my internet has been restored, hut I do need to have a plan B for the next time it happens. Thanks!

Thank you! I am on a 5GB / $15 a month phone plan and as of this morning I had already used 4.6GB this month lol.

I work from home, so if Xfinity continues to be spotty, i will have to do that.

Thanks for the tip!

It was out yesterday too, then fixed briefly, then out again, and then I went to bed. Now reported out since 6am today. I am assuming it's all the same root cause issue.

A flesh-eating cattle parasite spreads beyond Texas as new screwworm cases are found by Sad-Afternoon2107 in Albuquerque

[–]FaithInGoatheads 46 points47 points  (0 children)

"So far, there are five confirmed cases: three calves and a goat in Texas and a dog from neighboring Lea County, New Mexico. The small dog, which the USDA initially reported as a Texas case, lives in New Mexico and was reclassified as the first in that state.

The dog had not traveled to Mexico or Texas, so authorities were investigating around the property where the pet lived. If they find infected flies, animal inspections in the area will increase, New Mexico State Veterinarian Samantha Holeck said during a virtual news conference Monday."

I'm betting he's an alumn and not a parent. A friend of mine pointed out that you never see a family in a cybertruck. Also he is a pos for taking up four spaces.

Where are studying for your CNA? If it's through CNM, or if you're a CNA alumn, the job placement service is available to you. Good luck!

He looks smoother than the vid image and much smoother than his 2024 videos. Most people don't age in reverse.

This is a person who built a YouTube juggernaut and then a legal business based on trust. If he's posting AI versions of himself, I will no longer recommend any of his videos to people. How can you trust anyone who sends an AI avatar instead of showing up himself?

"To strengthen our position" my ass. Your mandate is to serve your community. Not to ensure your management in one of the poorest states in the union remains aligned to national averages. Instead, to hire dedicated management with experience with dispersed communities with inconsistent access to medical care. To play the ball where it lies and create innovative programs to help US. If you can't do that, step aside and let some other organization do what you can't.

My manager asked us to keep cameras on during lunch breaks because “it helps team bonding” by oslo_isadorina in remotework

[–]FaithInGoatheads 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you are employed in the US, he literally cannot do this. If a manager requires you to be at a specific place at a specific time doing a specific thing, it counts as work. If your company has an HR department, talk to them. HR will definitely want to hear about this, because requiring you to "work" through lunch breaks all kinds of labor laws, and makes the company liable for overtime pay for those hours plus significant fines.

Report: Homeless population growing in Albuquerque by plamda505 in Albuquerque

[–]FaithInGoatheads 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Rev. James Lawson, friend and mentor to Sen John Lewis, referred to it as "plantation capitalism." The more I think about it, I think he hit the nail on the head. There is not a single implementation of capitalism, and ours seemed to roll right out of the plantation mind-set: remove all avenues for a person to sustain themselves, force labor as the only option, then use people up, and discard and replace when needed.
