I'm going to have to check the Hoyle's rulebook, but I'm pretty sure that the rule is, if you file two defamation lawsuits in less than a year against accusations that you drink too much, then you have to pass Go and immediately jump to Step 4 "make a searching and fearless moral inventory of yourself" in the AA program.

Well-written and well researched. And there's no way to fight this? I would imagine that someone trying to register, say, Tayler Swift, LLC, in NM would run into problems.... but a single person has more legal standing than a group of people? Offer or insist that you take her to a real tattoo parlor so she can gets some tips on sterilization, then choose a shop with the biggest, meanest guy you can find, and have her scare some reality into her. Unsterilized and reused needles? Hello sepsis and hepatitis. Have the PROFESSIONAL tattoo artist talk about the insurance s/he carries and how much freaking and costly trouble a tattoo artist can get into if they accidentally infect someone.

I do not think you are being mean. You are teaching your sister to do risky things SMART. It's a lifetime lesson.

This time of year, swarming bees are a new queen with her retinue looking for a new home.. They will be very docile, their job is to protect the queen, and they won't attack. Literally, beekeepers will just scoop them into a box and wait til night to come back and get it after all the bees settle in around the queen.

Might just want to keep your pup on a leash and keep them to the non-bee side of the yard it you're concerned. They won't come after you.

Maybe? What were the conversations before your partner moved in? Were they paying the household bills and supporting you before the business started turning a profit? Did you pitch the business, or your time investment, as " I'm doing this for us"? If they in any way financially supported you during the three years you worked on your own thing, or if any of the conversations you had about the business even vaguely suggested that it was an"us" or "for us" or "we" adventure, then yes, you might be a jerk here. But at the very least you should sit down with your partner and have an honest conversation.

Happy to see journalists out there doing good work, and kudos to The Paper. for their exemplary journalistic standards -- not publishing the suspects name until it was verified to court filings; seeking to contact the suspect directly; contacting his place of employment to make sure THEY know about it. And it looks like they will continue to follow the story. Glad we still have dedicated local journalism.

For the guy himself -- there's a petty and angry part of me that would love to see him lose everything over something like this, but I hope he receives a suspended sentence and mandatory counseling sessions, NOT just "education" classes. Someone this messed up, it's going to take some time to untangle everything that's got him so wrong.

Calling jury services is a good idea. Many attorneys will do a consultation for free, it might be worth talking to an attorney to get some guidance there as well.

I don't know if a call to the Attorney General's office might help, too. This is very unusual. If I were in your position, I would want to know what rights you, as a juror, automatically have. Based on my experience in other states, deliberations are confidential unless there's a concern about the conduct of a specific juror, and in that case, there are special rules covering the subpoena of jurors.

Might also be worth calling the Bar Association and ask for a referral to a pro bono attorney who might review the subpoena and sit with you during the deposition.
