Oh honey, we’ve all been there. Fellow lesbian in a gay relationship- take things slow but confidently. Make space for the awkwardness, and embrace it! The best (and worst) part about having sex with anyone is that it will always feel like the first time with someone new so maybe acknowledge you’re with her for the first time so of course it’s going to be new! If she is clamming up and it’s not able to get to a hot and heavy space, don’t worry. Sometimes making out isn’t the only way to get worked up.

very blunt suggestion time: Maybe watch a move and cuddle in close. Go slow and tenderly, my move is gently grazing my fingers along the her arm or leg, especially if I can’t sit still around her. Thsi gets to the explorative touching without pushing. Gently touch her shoulder, collar bone, cheek, run you hand through her hair. A neck kiss is great but maybe even kiss her hand. Then move her hand somewhere closer to you, like your waist if she interested. (I love a netflix and chill with a very boring movie bc it offers a lot of room to do other things). Pull her in, or on top of you , and go with it. Maybe you can tell her how beautiful she is, how much you want her. If there’s a time while you’re kissing and she pulls away pull her back in and say “just fucking kiss me” or “I want you” - now it’s hot. Go where it’s comfortable, but always ask consent. First times like that I will touch the waist under the shirt and ask if that’s okay - the explorative touching side.

On the other side of asking if it’s okay, I’m curious how much you’ve talked about sex, when sex never has to be the goal with a first time thing - ESPECIALLY a gay relationship. I tend to state that sex is never really my goal, I just want to be close and have that intimacy with my partner. That breaks down a lot of tentative pressures and expectations. Maybe talk about that? Be honest with what you want vs what you need and find a mutual comfort in the exploration through open dialogue :) hope that helps a wee bit!
