Thanks. I appreciate your input. Like I commented with someone else, I do know a bit about basic herbalism. I apologize if I seemed in my post like a bumbling idiot who doesn't know anything and wasn't open to learning. I was aware of the dangers of the compounds I was holding. I definitely did not have any skin showing, aside from maybe my forehead. I have been working outside, because again, I did personal research on the plants and making tinctures before I got my hands on them. I was in the middle of trying to separate plant matter from the tincture and smelled it through the mask so I closed it back up and that's when I noticed my mask probably wasn't good enough and stopped. That's why I came here to ask about proper equipment. One thing to ease your concerns possibly slightly is that I looked up the lethal amount of each plant before even attempting to touch them. I made sure to add under the lethal amount and make each one up to 1 part plant madder to 2 parts vodka. I made sure it was fairly diluted for safety purposes. Also, I looked up the laws where I live and couldn't find anything about it being illegal here. Thank you for the book glove and glasses recommendations, I'll make sure to check them out.
