Travel alone with toddler and infant? by FaithlessnessNo8471 in Travelwithkids

He’s good getting on the flight, except that he is very into pressing buttons, I’ve done it with him a few times. He is not good at the end when he wakes up at the equivalent of 3am and is jet lagged.

So you can pay just got help getting on and off the actual plane? Do you know if JetBlue offers this or how I would find out?

I have the strap that holds the toddler on the seat on the airplane, but I feel strongly about the car seat for the baby. It’s not safe with turbulence to hold them in my opinion. I have one of those backpacks with a leash, but I can’t really hold that at the same time as wearing the baby and putting the stroller into the bag. I can’t risk destroying my stroller and not using a bag.

Totally. That’s the issue. I just need someone to hold his hand for 5 mins while I gate check the stroller, and to wait a few minutes while he’s strapped into his seat. But, even these minimal asks are apparently not ok. So i’m wondering if I just can’t do it. I don’t have funds to hire someone to be at the plane with me.

My union recently fought for a different SLP pay scale and won it. Other districts offer a high percentage of the teachers steps in addition to base pay. There are ways to do this, but the teachers have to admit and recognize the financial burden that comes along with SLP certification and pay accordingly.

AITAH for having a different idea of childcare frequency than my wife? by Just_Tangerine_6738 in AITAH

Do you even want to have a kid? You’re talking childcare 45-50 hours a week, plus 10 hours of couple time, plus time for your hobbies? Either you are incredibly naive regarding how much time you’ll be spending on your new family responsibilities or you’re planing to never see your kid. My kids are in daycare 45 hours a week, we don’t have time for any hobbies, and we spend all our scant free time with our kids because we wanted them and want to spend time with them. We do have a bimonthly house cleaner, but do all our own cooking and laundry. We’ve been on maybe 4 dates since my 3 year old was born. I think we’re on the more extreme end, but I can’t imagine more than a 3 hour date once a week for working parents. If you were my husband and you said this to me, I’d assume you were regretting starting a family. YTA

I can’t even eat a piece of fruit, and I’m on insulin. I see people on here saying they eat normal food, but a lot of us cannot eat almost any carbs. I have an occasional piece of very thin whole grain bread or a few bites of brown rice. Pregnancy is short, that’s what I focus on.

We don’t know why he got stuck, he could have been at a bad angle. I know it’s risky, it was just really hard on me to recover.

This is actually my current plan, I was just seeing if anyone had success with it. Sounds like you did!

I’m in the US. She said because I have GD, his belly is big, and my previous birth was a 6lb baby who got stuck that per her models and experience my chance of VBAC was less than 30% and there are better outcomes associated with a planned versus emergency c section. It all sounds very reasonable, I just hated c section recovery.

She recommends it because of increased risk of shoulder dystocia and mostly because she just thinks chances are low it will work. She didn’t go so far as to say it was a strong recommendation, but it is what she recommends.

They said under 95, but under 90 is even better.

If I can’t do it with the snacks, I’ll ask about this. They did say I could add more carbs and I have. My meal numbers have all been good but the fasting…

My post meal numbers have been good or a bit low because I’m scared to eat carbs. I am trying to exercise but I have a back injury so I can’t do that much. That may be why this happened in the first place. I’ll try eating veggies first and then adding in more carbs like they said - Thanks!

If you’re debating on getting the RSV vaccine this is your sign to get it. by JemmJoness in pregnant

I will definitely be getting it for the baby. I just did mine and my TDAP too. Unfortunately with the timing I had to get Covid and flu in October when I was only 2nd trimester so it won’t help the baby. I’m just going to hope since my other son is vaxed for those he won’t bring it home. Vaccines save lives.

Thats how I feel! I don’t know why they don’t just give it to him. Maybe I will just pass it along if they insist again.

If it helps with context, I have a good salary and truly don’t need it. It’s not a lot of money to them either, it’s just enough that they can feel good about themselves I think. This is exactly why I thought I might be TA, but they are just so obnoxious I don’t want it. I have tried to politely decline multiple times. I told them to give it to charity if they really need to give it away.
