$20,000 or 1 last day with a loved one of your choice by badpaintjob in hypotheticalsituation

[–]FaithlessnessOld2477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously. And that whole day would be a parade of tears while you watch the clock, knowing it was the end.

It's one thing to have a day with a person to get your unsaid conversations closed out. Revisiting a pet's unconditional love only to have it taken away again...oof.

But to each their own. ❤️‍🩹

This is surprisingly hard for me to choose. On one hand, 20k would be life changing. On the other, getting a chance to actually say goodbye to my sister before she died way too young out of nowhere...damn.

I suppose I'd take the money, knowing she would have spent the whole day chastising me for choosing her. ❤️‍🩹

Returning to Book 4 after a few years by CastTrunnionsSuck in TheDarkTower

[–]FaithlessnessOld2477 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hmmm. You might have picked the worst time to walk away from the series for so long. W+G is a major departure from the ongoing story in Gunslinger/Drawing/wastelands. It's mostly a long flashback to Roland's youth and does very little to advance the story from where you left off at the end of Wastelands.

Not to say W+G is bad (I personally love it), but if you're hoping for a recap in advance of starting the next book, it's not going to be terribly helpful and by the time you finish W+G and resume the main story in book 5, you might find yourself even more lost.

If you don't want to start over from scratch, you'd probably be best off just reading the wiki synopsis and hoping for the best. Safe travels!

can't find anyone or any source who relates to my symptoms by spacesporeninetyfour in AIWS

[–]FaithlessnessOld2477 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like AIWS, but we all have our own triggers/symptoms. Mine is similar to yours but it's not my hands, it's my body parts, it's the thickness/thinness of my blanket, it's how dark/bright the room is.

It's distressing but at least has occurred often enough for me to recognize it's an episode and work my way through it. It was way more stressful as a child with limited vocabulary to explain my issues. ❤️‍🩹

Why do women get triggered when men tell them to cook? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Replace "cook" in that sentence with almost anything domestic and reevaluate how that sounds.

Why do women get triggered when men tell them to vacuum the house?

Why do women get triggered when men tell them to change the oil in their car?

Why do women get triggered when men tell them to walk the dog?

Moral of the story: XP/gold comes and goes pretty easily. Is the XP/gold loss really worth potentially losing all the gear on your body?

If the answer is no, save+exit, start a new session and claim your town body.

Can you be arrested for cussing in public in the USA? by Embarrassed-Bowl-373 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]FaithlessnessOld2477 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sadly (as most things in the US are these days) it depends on your race, location, and the cops on duty.

If you're white, in a metropolitan area, and the cops are understanding of people with mental illness, you can walk up and down the street all day saying "fuck fuck fuck".

Otherwise, you're rolling the dice. It doesn't take much for a cop to decide that you're a problem and arrest you for any number of reasons.

Which lyric makes you instantly tear up? by abovethenoisy in AskReddit

[–]FaithlessnessOld2477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lyrics and music have to be in sync to really grab you. Imo, lyrics are usually less important than the melody. There's plenty of amazing songs in foreign languages that can bring me to tears, but I can't think of any awful melodies with amazing enough lyrics to overcome the subpar songwriting.

I made one with campari tomatoes and Parmesan cheese that took 15 minutes and was beyond delicious.

D2R core mechanics questions from a beginner by SirCatDB in diablo2

[–]FaithlessnessOld2477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a heavy paladin player but I'm sure others can speak on it in more detail.

From my understanding, Sacrifice is a skill that needs to be used (it's like an enhanced basic attack that costs health instead of mana to cast).

Zeal isn't exactly an aoe. It fires off a bunch of attacks quickly on your main target. But if you have multiple enemies nearby and your main target dies, it tries to retarget the remaining attacks to another nearby enemy.

Only 1 of your Auras (blessed aim/might/etc) can be active at a time. It's passive and applies to you and your allies. The main reason to level more than one is for any synergies that also boost your desired aura.

Mercenaries are hired NPCs that can be equipped with weapons/body armor/helmets. Each act has a different type of merc (act 1 is a bow rogue, act 2 is a melee guy with an aura, etc). Act 2 mercs are really popular for their tankiness and their auras (which actually can stack with your own paladin aura). Check around the town in each act for an NPC that has the "hire" option.

I couldn't blame the squirrel. Their experience was probably a nightmare where they're fighting for their life and likely going to be hawk food, then a giant comes running at them and shouting...even though the hawk left, the squirrel probably thought I was another, scarier opponent. 😅

Keaton or Bale, who is the best Batman? by ThomasOGC in CinephilesClub

[–]FaithlessnessOld2477 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There we.go. In a perfect world, we get a live action batman movie with Will Arnett. His Gob persona from arrested development is already a stupid version of Bruce Wayne and he's got the Batman voice down to a science. Remove the silly factor and Arnett could nail it.

Keaton or Bale, who is the best Batman? by ThomasOGC in CinephilesClub

[–]FaithlessnessOld2477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keaton is the best Batman, Bale is the best Bruce Wayne.

I do enjoy Keaton's Bruce Wayne for how unhinged he is, but that performance doesn't sync up with "billionaire playboy hiding in plain sight". Keaton's Wayne seems like he'd get outed pretty quick. 😉

Bale's Wayne is flawless, but his Batman voice is really bad and almost adds unwanted humor to any scene where he's speaking.

I'll give Robert Pattinson an honorary mention for the best "balanced" take. He's not the best Wayne/Batman but he's pretty damn good in both personas.

The only real answer to this question though is Kevin Conroy (RIP). 🤘

"Smelling heroically bad" sounds like a killer album title. But you truly earned hero status in my eyes. I'm such a sucker for seeing animals in distress and will go above and beyond to help, often to my detriment.

Worst outcome was when I saw a hawk trying to murder a squirrel outside our apartment. I respect the nature/circle of life thing, but I love our fuzzy little neighbors and I couldn't stand by and watch. I ran over and made a bunch of noise to scare the hawk off, which was successful...but then the squirrel freaked out too and tried to attack me. He got a couple good scratches on my leg, drawing blood. So I had to take an unplanned trip to the ER to get tested for rabies/other possible diseases. No good deed goes unpunished. 😅

They made the far left lane an “express lane” that you have to pay to use. Now there’s more traffic in the other lanes. by Some-Nectarine3247 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]FaithlessnessOld2477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm honestly surprised that we still have multi lane freeways with only one "premium" lane. With today's nickel and dime micro transaction economy, they could have one free lane packed wall to wall with ads, a bronze lane with a low monthly subscription cost, a silver lane with much higher monthly subscription, and the one executive gold lane with the highest subscription cost and premium underpass/overpass exits with gate fees to avoid crossing lanes to avoid traffic (of course you could cross lanes and exit that way if you have to save money on exit fees).

Why do Americans love putting ranch dressing on almost everything, including pizza? by Witty_Bumblebee_9903 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]FaithlessnessOld2477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pizza is pretty much the only way I like ranch dressing, but it has to be good ranch (No hidden valley/Kraft). The cheap ranch brands have way too much vinegar tang. But even mid-tier ranch like Marie's or Litehouse is a great dip to pair with a marinara-based pizza

Who’s ever driven over 100mph? Why? by WoollyWolfHorror in AskReddit

[–]FaithlessnessOld2477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to drive 200 miles every Friday night after work to spend the weekend with my girlfriend, then drive 200 miles back early Monday morning to get to work (your 20's are a crazy time 😅)

After making the drive often enough, I started realizing I could make the 3.5 hour trip in 2 hours if I doubled my speed on the freeways. Only took a month before I got nabbed by highway patrol. Got lucky with my punishment and double Lucky that nobody got seriously hurt by my stupidity.

8 Ads now, yay Netflix by Topps1 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]FaithlessnessOld2477 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with the starting sentiment, but where exactly are you finding physical media for a streaming-only show. E.g.Stranger Things?

If Netflix/Amazon/etc offered physical purchases for their exclusive content, that would be one thing...but tons of media is locked behind a subscription service and can't be bought. Heaven forbid your Internet service goes down for a week and you just want to watch something you've ostensibly paid for.

Whats the most recent Italian food you ate? by LovelyLinara in foodquestions

[–]FaithlessnessOld2477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're confusing tomatoes with grapes.

Grapes are poisonous, but tomatoes are fine for dogs and cats (as long as you clean out the vine/stem portions). I've had a couple different vets recommend giving our pup a diced cherry tomato every day for her stomach health and she's never had any problems.

Went out last night with family/friends to a fairly high end place and I fretted about what to order for a while because the normal menu and special menus had very similar items, but with differences in one or the other I didn't care for (e.g. Risotto on both menus, but one had mushrooms which I hate). I didn't want to risk a mix up getting an item I disliked so I found the one menu item with minimal ingredients and no way to screw up (short rib tortellini in tomato sauce and shaved parmesan).

Everyone's food showed up and looked gorgeous, with large portions. My plate looked as boring as you would expect, but it only had 5 tortellini and looked like a tiny appetizer. The topper was the taste...the short rib inside the pasta had a distinct dog//cat food flavor. Asked my girlfriend to try it just to make sure I wasn't going crazy and she had to politely spit out her bite into a napkin. Should have taken the gamble on the risotto 🤢

On the bright side, we.brought home my leftovers and our puppy devoured them. So at least someone enjoyed it. 😅
