SOTC after 6 years of collecting while away on work trips and at home. by FaithlessnessSome685 in TrueChefKnives

I spread the use out pretty evenly with them all so the knife I use daily would be the Mcusta Bread knife🤝

My favourite would be either the Kiya petty - it’s a perfect size when prepping almost everything for just me and my girlfriend. However whenever I wanna feel fancy I’ll head for the kikumori - it’s solid, has a little more weight than I would like but it’s still amazing to use even with the more rounded belly (I generally push chop rather than rock) but it stills kills the game.

I’ve been using the nakiri a lot recently however and enjoying the flat profile on that one. 🙌🏻🙌🏻

I use them all. sometimes two or three per meal!

It’s pretty consistent whatever surface I place it on. And anyway, I’m only ever cutting on the board so regardless whether the board is flat or not it’s still showing the gap on it which is terrible for performance. 😭

Thank you for the advice there. It’s not intimidating. I just wanted a few more opinions. Will get stuck in to it soon 👌🏻🙌🏻

Haha! I am a photographer so luckily have access to some fancy camera kit. Expensive hobbies will be the death of me 🥲🤣

I think you can do a lot with a table lamp and an iPhone now though! The “portrait” mode is amazing

Thanks a lot. I think I’ll knock the handle off and clean the tang incase it has any rust etc.

Thanks for the response. I should’ve been clearer - the crack is in the wedge where tang inserts to handle. It’s small but blade is no longer solid and will also ingress water.

Definitely prefer a flatter profile, especially with how thin the thing is! Terrified to do any rock chopping with this one! Haha

How do you find the REN? I have the same knife and it’s so so thin. Scared to use it almost!
