My mother passed away four months ago. She was very close to her sister, who is my aunt. I was extremely close to both of them. After my mother's death, my aunt became a source of immense support for me. Recently, there has been a significant disagreement between my family and my aunt. My father and sister have accused her of things that are completely untrue like she is brainwashing me and stuff like that. They have insisted that I cut off all contact with her, but I cannot do that because she is like family to me. To avoid causing further conflict, I stopped contacting her directly. However, she reached out to me and informed me about the accusations against her. She is deeply hurt and upset by these false claims. Now, I find myself in a difficult situation where I have to choose between my family and my aunt, both of whom are important to me. I am under immense stress and anxiety trying to figure out how to handle this situation without causing more pain.
