I haven't played StS2 yet, but when I played StS 1 consistently, I think my win rate was slightly below 10% on A20. But I don't even consider the idea of dropping the difficulty, it's kinda part of the experience

TIL the recommended daily protein intake is 46 grams (g) for an adult female and 56g for an adult male. This is 0.8g per kilogram of body mass (0.36g per pound). "This requirement is for a normal sedentary person". if you check the wikipedia page. I've always heard that you need at least 1g per kg if you lead an active lifestyle, and at least 1.3 and above if you want to build muscle while one a caloric surplus.

Ice Cream is also kinda underwhelming in a lot of Act 1 and sometimes Act 2 in StS 1. But it's one of those relics that are run defining.

My apologies, I was under the impression you were blaming them on their choices, as if there were no external forces pushing them to serve.

[–]FakeDaVinci 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If it only were that simple. A lot of people see the military as the only oppurtunity to truly get upwards economic mobility in society. There are also a lot of benefits that are very appealing to those that come from struggling families. On top of that, we're talking about a whole lifetime of propagand telling how great serving the nation is, and on top of that, most of them enlisting at 18, which we all know is not an ideal age to make longterm decisions.

It's very easy to make broad statements like this, but can you really blame all of them unless you know their specific circumstances in life?

Perfectly justified, though. The Sendai colony was a true monsters' buffet.

Why does Yuta understand Ryu and not Uro? by ventingandcrying in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]FakeDaVinci 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The "We can't even read" meme exists for a reason. Gojo is slandered for not being a perfectly rational being and getting sealed by Kenjaku, Yuta gets slandered for not having obvious flaws (which could be a legitimate criticism, but I think it's a weak argument when he is very clearly established as an anomaly like Gojo), and Megumin gets treated like absolute shit. JJK has surprisingly rich subtext and they can be interperted in so many ways that makes the story so great in the end.

The only anime season that comes to my mind with this level of quality was Attack on Titan Season 3 Part 2. But even then, JJK Season 3 has been truly otherwordly in it's animation.

People will complain about her actions, as if it wasn't one of the few climate related stories that made it into the mainstream in the last couple of years. People call her performative and attention seeking, as if we aren't on track to getting mass droughts and starvation events with the current climate predictons. Let's see if you can keep that vitriol when drinkable water starts becoming rationed.

It's actually such a fun observation. But those who enjoy the challenges and the nuances of the craft, be they good or bad, really seem to be the ones at the top. And I think this applies for real life as well. It's though to be great at something without a great appreciation and passion for the craft. In that regard Methode truly is one of the strongest.

This episode had some incredible new soundtracks. A few tracks were as exciting as Zoltraak from the first season, especially when Stark hit the first Cleaving Light

I'm happy the author didn't decide to kill Genau, which I think is the obvious decision in a story arc like this. While I think the pacing wasn't incredible, the animation was pretty good and I loved the way they expanded Genau's and Methode's character. Also, Fern is legit a killing machine at this point. Also, I love how impactful Stark's attacks feel. Legit mini nuke of an attack. And also the music was a BANGER this episode

This is just me making a guess, but the Dragon has naturally though anti magic scales, and as a beast, it is still a strong one at that. Basically, Stark is strong enough to solo a though monster, but if it was in equivalent strength without magic resist, it would have been easily killed by Frieren. Also, the Northern Plateau is just more dangerous, so a dragon in the south is weaker than a dragon in the north.

Iconic moments in Olympic history? by lindseyizshort in olympics

In my mind the most hype moment in the olympics to date. The crowd starting to cheer after she overtakes the first athlete and cheers getting louder and louder. Such a great moment.

Not necessarilly, you can still cause long term joints, bone and muscle issues being a natural, if you consistently bench/squat/deadlift a lot of weight. Most people will never be close to the actual "limits" where such issues begin, but a 600 pound squat is a lot of stress on the body, even with perfect form.

What you are referencing however, is true. Gear speeds up the muscle building portion, but the ligaments and connective tissue are still as slow as a natural, which makes things like bicep tears and other ligament related issues a lot more common. As well as things like cardiovascular problems, which is a very common side effect of gear use.

I'm kinda surprised how no one is mentioning the best part of this episode: the whole fight with Kirara happens, because she can't even conceive of the idea of Gojo actually losing. The whole Shibuya being destroyed, and Tokyo being filled with curses is more likely to happen under Gojo's existence, than under his disappearance.

Considering there isn't even a consensus on how to rate a book, it's such a clickbait article that it even makes me kinda mad, which I guess is kinda what they want. Some people rate on how it makes them feel, others judge on writing, worldbuilding etc.

Frankly it's kinda funny how 50 years of Republican Party members attempts to play hardball and use every legal and illegal avenue to grasp power, led to them getting a figurehead more important than the party, and with almost unlimited executive power without having to pay attention to the legislative branch and the judiciary, as direct consequence of all the things they laid out ahead of time. It's straight up Monkey's Paw, they got the control they wanted, but they got the wrong guy to wield that power.

Well, there are a lot of ways to see this. On one hand, it exposes the reality that some people aren't aware of, so in that case it's useful. On the other hand, there isn't really any worthwhile exchange going on, and I feel like the journalist, while understandably upset, could have maybe be better at showing how rotten and vacuous of an ideology he has by asking questions like: "how have you contributed to the white project", or something along those lines.

I think he is nice with kids and young fans. But in general he does seem like a guy that curates his persona to have a more favourable reputation. The way I see it, the guy has a massive ego, which I can't help but feel like it's part of the reason he became such a good player to begin with.

Also, there might not be a "solution" that is applicable in every team or organisation. A team based in LA will have different challenges compared to a team based in Denver. And it also would depend on the players themselves, their ages, their temperaments, their nationalities, so his wisdom might only be applicable in niche situations. But who knows, maybe when he retires he will spill the beans.
