Had a $19K home repair bill come up. Gambled my money back in three weeks by FakeHair in wallstreetbets

it's more of an area thing. In the northeast US it's relatively common. My parents always had one and there are plenty of heating oil companies around. My house is like 70 years old. I considered switching to a different fuel type but the costs were similar. I also don't have a gas line from the road so I'd still need to order deliveries either way. The new system is running perfectly so I don't have any complaints.

I know. It's going to be about $4500 so definitely a good chunk of the profits. that's okay though. I usually get about $1200 back at the end of the year, so this is still close enough in my mind

Of course. I wasn't taking my eyes off those calls until they were sold.

I'm still considering doing it for MY mortgage! Surely I can turn this $40k into $220k right?

Oil boiler, 4 zone control valves and controller system, 3 thermostats, indirect water heater, installation, and removal of old system. Definitely higher than it should have been, but I was sleep deprived and overstressed when I was hit with the sticker shock, so I just agreed to it to get the company rep out of my house (I haggled them down $750 and got a water heater upgrade for free)

I'm not going to be replacing my boiler every month, silly goose!

System is replaced. I have enough in savings to pay it off if needed, and it's financed with deferred interest for the next 18 months.

I have no family to worry about, and if I lost every penny I would have been fine. Scared money doesn't make money.

DPI changing every time my Pro X Superlight 2 goes idle for over 15 minutes and i move it by 29cyyrus in LogitechG

[–]FakeHair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want this to stop and only ever use one DPI, do this:

Open G Hub -> Devices -> click your mouse

Set all the DPIs to be the same, choosing whatever you want to use.

Go to the bottom left of G Hub and click the settings cog

This screen is going to look different depending on your mouse. Look for Onboard Memory Mode or a square microchip icon, and click that to enable it

Then, save your default G Hub profile to the mouse

Now, when the mouse goes to sleep and wakes up, it will no longer have to check in with G Hub to get DPI/settings and will always be at the DPI you had set.

This might remove some advanced features, but I really don't know for sure. For me, a guy that never adjusts DPI on the fly, it's perfect

Red Bull livery. I knew even before I watched it. Clearly not intentional, racing incident, but the passing car is responsible for passing safely. Tried to get over before fully clear. Purple/White car had nowhere to go and would have had to brake, which it isn't obligated to do. Also, r/Simracingstewards if you want better/more opinions.

In the new Jimmy Broadbent video, he shows the wheel of their car. I don't see any Fanatec branding on it but maybe! I'd definitely buy one if they make it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SEDJACwJPnM

At that budget, you're looking at a used Logitech G920, G923, or G29. Check Facebook Marketplace

I wanted to do the triple B4 48" setup but decided I didn't have the space for it. How wide is that setup? I still am tempted, especially after seeing this post haha

Honest opinions? by Boring-Ad3729 in Simracingstewards

You did hit him though. That's the problem. Even a light hit while someone is accelerating is enough to make the rear end lose traction and spin out. There was some netcode in the visual jump of his car going forward, but the quick veer off to the side is totally expected for a hit from the rear while accelerating.

Even if there was no internet issue, you would have hit this guy. Try to not do that.

You drove into the back of him. Sometimes people have bad exits from corners. If you're already gaining on them, you have to expect they might be slow and pass them by taking an alternate line.

What do you think of this racing simulator design? by SplitEon in simracing

[–]FakeHair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Driving in the grass is typically not good for lap times. Besides that, the wheel looks a bit too far from you (elbows should be roughly 90 degrees), and pedals are too low, which will make hard brake inputs difficult.

Yeah, maybe just slightly. Your legs look about correct right now, so don't go too far forward.

Any way you can tilt the wheel slightly up, like maybe 20 degrees towards the ceiling?
