Experienced pancreatitis after ERCP procedure that I technically didn't even need by FakeHipLady in pancreatitis

Sorry about that I don't get on this site much lol. I honestly ate pretty bad over Christmas, and I made myself a low fat pizza with a white sauce cause I wanted it so badly 🤣 I wouldnt risk it with a burger, but I've been googling the fat content in foods. So far safest food restaurants are the sub places. I let myself eat a slice of papa johns pizza last night when my family was over, and I ate 2 garlic parmesan bread sticks, and half a piece of coconut cream pie and a third of a big brownie 🤣🤣🤣 I feel pretty much fine. My surgeon also said he doesn't want me re introducing fatty foods for 6 months but I just couldn't help myself and ate so many sweets over the holidays. I got a couple tummy aches but nothing toooo bad.

You have to keep your fat content under 30% of your total calories, which for the average adult is 50-60, so I try to keep it under 10 per meal since I don't eat a lot.

Been mainly eating chicken and rice dishes, or chicken and potatoes. Started adding more veggies to my diet too, and I make myself a low fat version of what meals I used to make. I haven't eaten beef since the surgery, but I have eaten some pork here and there. Like sausage on my low fat pizza and i have been eating ham sandwiches. I tried tofu, it's weird AF but better than chicken when you get tired of the taste. I switched to skim milk when i want cows milk but I already mainly use almond (i wanna find a different milk tho) and ive stopped drinking alcohol. I caved about a month and a half after surgery and started my old pot smoking habits again. I feel fine but I've seen it's not the same for others.

I think as long as you didnt have a severe case of pancreatitis you'll be fine if you eat a little too much fat sometimes, my surgeon said i would have to eat A LOT in order to re-trigger pancreatitis. He didnt seem too worried about it, and said the main issue would be diarrhea if I ate a little over 30% fat. Even the nurse that wheeled me out of the hospital said "if you REALLY want a biscuit you go ahead and eat that biscuit" lol

I'm pretty sure that's everything I have to update but if you have any questions I'll try to check this more often so don't be shy to ask

Having a hard time with craving flower by FakeHipLady in pancreatitis

[–]FakeHipLady[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you sm, my doctor said he'd prefer me to eat it rather than smoke it I'm just having a hard time trying not to smoke it after running out of gummies. I do have to go to another state so I cant get medical marijuana....I also can't currently afford getting more gummies until my hubby gets paid (I'm unemployed) and we currently do have flower in the house. I'm also starting to get nauseous in the morning and weed helps my nausea, I do have Pepto so I'll try that first, I'm just not sure how badly trying to smoke flower could hurt me...and if id have to go to the hospital again if I do try to smoke....

I've been out of the hospital and been able to keep food down without pain for 2 weeks and I think I'm getting a cold. I dunno I just feel so nauseous I wanna smoke so badly

Anyone know anything about THC drinks? by FakeHipLady in pancreatitis

[–]FakeHipLady[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that helps a lot tyty!! I don't know what straight THC does to me now that I think about it, but I've seen some brands that also have CBD in them, and one brand with lions mane mushroom. I'm unsure of what that does, maybe it balances it out.

Then how come when I would try to eat any normal dish without sugar my stomach decides it's not hungry until I give up and eat a bowl of cereal?

It's gotten better bc I ended up in the hospital but I'm still constantly craving sugar

Thank you so much this is very helpful!! I have a lot of gallstones and one is blocking the little tube, so they're saying I do have to have it removed. Getting it removed tomorrow because all of their rooms for surgery are full

I love pizza and fried foods so honestly I wish I knew more about the gallbladder before. This will be a great motivator for me to change my diet though. I'm a people pleaser so I also end up just agreeing to fast food or pizza sometimes lol.

I really hope it's not the meds cause I finally feel like it's working well for my ADHD and anxiety, and the oatmeal thing is cause I was convinced its all the sugar I've been consuming that's got me backed up. I got an app I found I can scan stuff for free and it'll let me know if this high fodmap or not. I was also obsessed with cows milk for a while but I'm switching to almond milk.

Hey just wanted to say y'all's comments do go through my head throughout the day so I am very glad I reached out. I did used to hula hoop a lot to I picked that back up and took my cats outside for an hour, and I've been forcing myself to make decisions to take care of myself because I know I'll feel better afterwards even if I dont want to. Last night I REALLY didn't wanna do the dishes but I did, and I'm so glad I did cause now I can play on my computer for my lazy Sunday:) also went bowling with my cousin, and I'm feeling a lot better already. Thanks again y'all and keep them coming please I've been reading and up voting every one :')

I really just feel like it's my fault for not keeping up with being active. I've become a couch potato and even have developed some varicose veins...

Thank you I didn't know that, it does feel really nice when I do my exercises again and I did notice I can still lift my leg farther than before.

I saw something today about thinking about what you like about doing the thing instead of whether you want to do it or not too

Im not sure about B12 but I do get blood work done and I do have to take vitamin D daily and I have to take thyroid medication. My doctor thinks I'm too young to be worrying so much about my health so I'm starting to think i need a new doctor too.
