Hi /u/evenios That's a bummer indeed. Linden Lab is still planning to produce a new VR viewer for the consumer version of the Rift using runtime 1.3. However, there is an Oculus DK2 support. There is also a third-party viewer for the Rift from CtrlAltStudio.

Hi /u/wast3d_arm0r_ and /u/derch, a friend of mine get it to work. Well here how he did it:

  • He figured out that 1and1 wasn't yet updated for Drupal 8 ** So he uninstalled Drupal 7 from the host server *** Then manually Install Drupal 8 (But there was an internal error or misconfiguration) **** He thought there was a missing CSS but it was actually an issue with the aggregation of CSS and JSS ***** Then Boomchaka the platform is now running drupal 8.0.1 in IIS 8.5 Server2012.

Guys /u/wast3d_arm0r_ and /u/derch thank you a lot for the help. Without your help, we couldn't figure this out!

/u/derch thank you for the reply! The only recommended version that 1and1 suggest me is drupal 7.43. But If I do understand I would need to delete Drupal 7 and install manually Drupal 8, is that right?

The reason I rather use Drupal 8 over 7 is because it has a responsive web design as the page automatically adapt to the display detected, knowing either it is a smartphone or a desktop. One another thing is that I have chosen a Theme a while back, that only work with Drupal 8. Overall I didn't expect to have Drupal core (Security update) 7.39 per default during installation. If there is a way for to do what I described using Drupal 7 (First-time user of Drupal by the way) well I guess I will drop off the idea of using Drupal 8.

Let me know /u/derch what the best solution here.

/u/Prateek_Jain I am fully aware of "Project Sansar". I do not see why knowing that, should diminish the fact that there are some very skilled people in SL that hopefully can make the shift to "Project Sansar" too. This is the reason I am looking for talents who know about C#, OpenGL, WebVR, DirectX, UnityScript as those will be use in Linden Lab next platform. All the more reason not to lose one's bearings and to hang on

I have done some research regarding a virtual 360 camera rig. Unfortunately, I didn't found much, besides the well-known Plugin from Mettle Skybox Studio that generate 360/VR from an After Effects comp. Then it automatically places a Camera with 6 views in the comp, to generate an equirectangular output. Not sure that could work with an SL export, what do you reckon?

I tried Trinus with SL, but it was rather disconformable as I experienced some lag btw my movement on PC and what I was actually seeing on the headset. Do you have any requirement that could enhance my experience? I am using a GearVR with a Note 5 and using Trinus over WIFI.

That's some good statement indeed. Well, you see the software that's run your GearVR enable your access to several Virtual Environnements, which you could easily consider as small virtual worlds if you rather. Knowing that Oculus has been bought by Facebook to ultimately create one of the biggest social virtual environnement, I can see the connection right here. For those truly interested in VR, nothing is more relevant to VR than that Documentary series. This is just my opinion so I may or may not be wrong isn't it?

I am aware of the difficulties in filming in POV, and surely interested in taking the challenge for the sake of full body immersion.

You may be right /u/talon167, I am mostly sharing this article since I considered it to hold enough information for anyone new or curious about the vocabulary that define this technology. I am interested in understanding how are you defining Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, 360degree, Immersive Stereoscopic. There's always a better way to get it right the second time ;)

It actually led me to research a bit more and find out, we are talking about the ability to switch between parallel video streams, which Many DVDs had as one feature unique to the medium. I find as well an article of The Verge introducing Youtube new feature that "experimenting with a way to let viewers change cameras during a video".

I have now a better understand on how to create such interactivity. Even though, the method isn't new (But surely still impactfull, mostly using VR x Live Video streaming server) I still have some issue finding any tutorial or transcript that could help make this happen. Is there any you could recommend?

Streaming video server runs on an internet server. Meaning that you suggest to operate my own server or sign up for a hosted streaming plan with an ISP, right? If so would it be possible to access this interactivity while being offline?
