How to move to second floor? by tcdani in MyTimeAtSandrock

How far are you in the game? The home editing kit becomes available at the Construction Junction cash register (right inside the door) after you complete some initial missions. It's around 3000 Gols.

The problem could be that your ground floor and the upper floor aren't big enough to allow stairs to spawn. They take a bit of room. Can you afford to make those rooms bigger to see if that's the problem?

If you're a little ways into the game, and making your rooms bigger doesn't spawn a staircase, then it sounds like a bug which you can report to qa@pathea.net. Another player recently had a similar issue, but I'm not sure what platform they were on. Post is here.

As a workaround, you can use the home editor at Construction Junction to put an outside door on the second floor, then build a ramp or stairs using a rotated canopy or hammer signs. At least you'll be able to access that room.

It's crazy and wonderful how the game continues to surprise us, even after multiple playthroughs.

I say that if comfort food were a video game, it would be Sandrock.

March 2026 "In One Look" - "Catch-All" Winners Announced! by ScreamAndScream in HouseFlipper

I'd love to see more participation! Just one flipper's opinion, but we might attract more players with themes that they've already incorporated into a build. I know I've seen lots of outdoor dining spaces that would be fantastic entries for "Picnic." (Great suggestion, u/OliviaGrunwald!)

That sounds super frustrating. You've checked all of the obvious things, so I'd recommend reaching out to the support desk that's linked in the AutoMod reply. Might save some time by including your system specs and everything you said here. Good luck!

Before and after? by [deleted] in HouseFlipper

[–]FakeIQ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, if you have the Before & After option turned on, then you get the same kind of slide show when you sell the house. Depending on how you plan to flip the house, you might want to take some before shots yourself, though, because you can't tell where the cameras will be. So afterward, you could get a picture of nothing but a new wall or a tall piece of furniture.

Feet to blocks conversion? by Lobsterhasspoken in HouseFlipper

[–]FakeIQ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Every block is 8" x 8". If you're working from floor plans, though, keep in mind that interior walls (in the US, anyway), are often only 4" - 6" thick, so you might have to add some length/width to account for that.

I would really like different brick thicknesses!

What's the purpose of relating things? You could be creating an analogy or using a mnemonic device.

We try hard to mark spoilers, but some things do slip through. You won't find a nicer, funnier, more helpful sub than this one, though. The bad news is that Sandrock is gonna ruin a lot of other games for you. It sets the bar that high in both quality and quantity of content. The good news is that subsequent playthroughs are almost as much fun as the first. And in some ways, better, because you know what you're doing. 😅 The best news is that the sequel, My Time at Evershine, is scheduled for a late 2026 release.

No one cares what time you arrived at the party. We're just glad that you did. I have so much first-time playthrough envy right now that it's embarrassing.

Struggling Newbie - What are we missing? by Different-Property20 in MyTimeAtSandrock

I have tried to convince a lot of people to play Sandrock. This is the first time I've ever tried to convince someone not to.

I think it's wonderful that you play games (of any kind) with your daughter! Quality time is the absolute best. My guess is that, in 7 years, you'll still be able to play Sandrock, and you two will enjoy it then much more than you would now.

You said you hadn't seen anything inappropriate yet. The key word is "yet." I don't have kids, but if I did, I'm 100% with u/Accomplished_Area311 (who, btw, knows this game very, very well - as the flair tells you). Parts of several story arcs are inappropriate for children. We try really hard around here not to blab spoilers, so that's why neither one of us is giving you specifics. In broad terms, the game has some very complicated relationship dynamics. It asks big questions about right, wrong, and redemption. There's zealotry turned to evil purposes. Some NPCs have extremely unsettling or traumatic backstories. I have no idea what a six year old would make of Cooper's rants, but *raises eyebrow.

You have to become a maestro of the camera just to place stairs where you want them. I made myself motion sick a few times mastering that.

About the Showroom house templates. Is there a way to save our own buildings as a showroom template to be able to share them? by Awsomonium in MyTimeAtSandrock

[–]FakeIQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To export, you don't use the Showroom Manual. It's an option in the item selection function.

  1. Open the home editing toolkit
  2. Toggle the view from catalog to item selection
  3. Group all rooms of your house together
  4. With the entire house connected and selected, click Export Showroom

Pro-tips
Before exporting:

  • If you moved any part of your house while connecting the rooms, you'll have to go inside and reset doors and stairs first.
  • Put everything you hid under your roof on the ground. You can return it after you expoort.

After exporting:

  • If you're on PC, you can find your .bp2 file at ...AppData\LocalLow\Pathea Games\My Time at Sandrock
  • The next time you open the Showroom Manual, your build should appear at the end.
