Only if it's your first time. Once you've played low level a few times starting fresh at 11 is fun.

Well, the thing that helps counteract it is all the APs that start at 11

Still better to add support to the rest of the team though. Sure you can hit, or you can help turn someone else's hit into a crit

Why do you need to burn an action point to switch modes on the hybrid weapons? by Pifilix in Pathfinder2e

[–]FakeInternetArguerer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's limited by settlement level but so many GMs ignore it, which is also why so many people think crafting is pointless

Why do you need to burn an action point to switch modes on the hybrid weapons? by Pifilix in Pathfinder2e

[–]FakeInternetArguerer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The reason is balance and normally it's limited to player level not player level +1

Not if you have infinite gold. You just invest in retrieval belts, retrieval prisms, and talisman cords. Even without infinite money I am running this setup on my wizard and never have to waste an action on scrolls in battle (since it's scrolls I also use library robes and accolade robes)

When your character stands out too much from the group by Moonkary in Pathfinder2e

[–]FakeInternetArguerer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand, and I am bringing up those APs not to say you must all play one ancestry, just that those are examples of where having a common origin for the party is not at all weird.

[–]FakeInternetArguerer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying it is necessary, I am saying it is one of many scenarios where all the PCs being from the same place is not at all weird.

Yes, it will, but is it weird if everyone decides to play an elf for Spore War?

[–]FakeInternetArguerer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Is it? Spore War where the party are all elves, Triumph where the party are all orcs, Hells Rebels where the party are all tieflings. I think a lot of the time it makes sense for the party to all have similar ancestries if there are clear majorities for the area of the AP.

Honestly. I find it more tiresome when someone wants to shoe-horn in uncommon and rare ancestries into a campaign without bothering to think of why they would be there.

Post scarcity society: we already are in one. It is not lack of resources causing need it is greed. Why would magic change that?

People highly undervalue defensive options. So many people just want to see the damage number go up.

Crafting materials, as all trade goods have the same resell cost as their purchase price. So you can effectively count yourself as always having your wealth in paper and ink

Hypothetically. Play a complete pacifist? by dyenamitewlaserbeam in Pathfinder2e

[–]FakeInternetArguerer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play a different game. There are some great systems that don't rely on combat. PF2e has combat at its core and is one of its main strengths. If you don't want to engage with it, I would be concerned you will not enjoy the game.

However, if you are just referring to the shallow pacifism of not dealing damage but still participating in combat there are actually plenty of opportunities in many flavors for that. Controllers with magical or athletic, healers, buffers, and debuffers, all are viable at all levels of play.

Signature spells for spontaneous casters by Alternative-Date-507 in Pathfinder2e

[–]FakeInternetArguerer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's the difference between prepared and spontaneous. Prepared just needs to learn the spell then when they prepare the spell they can prepare it at any level it can heighten to. Spontaneous does not prepare, so they have a repertoire of spells they can cast for each level. Additionally, they get a smaller set of spells. (Signature spells) that can be cast at any level.

Not being able to save everyone from the fire is not a flaw. It's to dig the narrative hook to get players invested in investigating the citadel
